Exact same bug 3 years later, zip files are extracted with wrong permissions, 700 instead of 722. Hi, I just spent a lot of time (1 to 2 hrs) for this bug. I downloaded a zip file from Firefox, then and I decompressed in a folder. Later, I tried opening/execute from Firefox and couldn't. If you can solve this bug, I would be very happy. I've had some suspicions and tested them on my wive's computer. File roller gave _correct_ permissions to files. I've had Ubuntu on my lappy from day one (AFAIR I got it after Feisty came out) and must have messed something up on the way.
