I attached a video of the bug in action, and as for that pdf it was just a datasheet for a texas instruments package that I needed for an engineering project that I no longer have, but for me the problem has been with anything viewed using the document viewer. I can't provide any better evidence beyond the video showing evince refusing to display the pages i navigate to, so sorry if I can't be of more use as of this moment.
