[Bug 477324] Re: Fix sort order in Group Settings.
OK, in users-admin 2.29.90 groups will be sorted by login alphabetical order, and search-as-you-type will match on login too. So this will be fixed in Lucid. ** Changed in: hundredpapercuts Status: New = Fix Released -- Fix sort order in Group Settings. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/477324 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 477324] Re: Fix sort order in Group Settings.
I'm not sure however if this is something that would want to be changed.. It's in the same order as what is in the /etc/group file. I can't see how the user will benefit from having the groups displayed in the order it was created in. Looking for a group becomes a pain if its not alphabetically sorted. Also the user can't be bothered how the developer chose to store and in what order he chose to store the groups, as long as the user can view them in a sensible/useful manner. BTW: thanks for logging the upstream bug, I'll track the bug. -- Fix sort order in Group Settings. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/477324 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-system-tools in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
