Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it without more information.
Is this still an issue?
Are you using a hardware graphics driver?
Did you install anything after starting it the first time?
Were any updates made after starting it the first time?
** Description changed:
I have a 10 yr old x86 computer with 512 MB RAM, and 698 MHz processor
speed. I like Ubuntu a lot. However, I have two problems with it. First,
I resized my screen resolution and shutdown the computer. When I turned
it on again, after I entered my password in the log in prompt, the
revolving glowing thing under the logo skipped and stopped several
times, and then disappeared and the log in prompt appeared again. I
restarted several times, with no result. I reinstalled Ubuntu 9.10, then
- did the resolution change. Same result. Second, on all my 10 year old
- computers, I cannot enter hibernate and sleep modes in Ubuntu 9.10,
- Kubuntu 9.10, and Xubuntu 9.10. I would appreciate any help.
+ did the resolution change. Same result. I would appreciate any help.
