To clarify: I expected the input box to wrap-around and either grow vertically, or have a scrollbar, yes. The window should not resize because it is being typed into. i.e. the input box grows horizontally to fit the typed text in, but in doing this forces the whole window itself to grow, which is wrong. If this is not reproducible, may be a metacity or X issue, so will apport-collect this in. Teej : Do you mean: you expect a scroll bar to be introduced into the input box when a sentence is longer than the input box? With all window panes staying the same size.
