Please use command gstreamer-properties to launch the gstreamer input/output 
selection dialog. In Video tab check that the plugin is set to V4L2. Then see 
if 'Device' dropdown shows your camera. If it does select the camera dn Click 
'Test' button. If everything works then this should enable use of camera in 
cheese.
Ekiga does not use gstreamer yet so I don't know if the camera will be detected 
by Ekiga.

Okay, that works for cheese.

But Ekiga still doesn't work. It can detect the camera, but I see this
in the terminal.

libv4l2 device or resource busy

Tried starting with sudo as well, and still nothing.
