well I don't know. I didn't use specific changes. I only compile the new kernel without experimental options (to avoid problems). I have the W100 with 1Gb Memory Stick Pro Duo and the same problem occurs... my doubt before begin to compile the kernel is if the standard config of kernel 2.6.20 is enough to fix it... or if is necessary some specific change at the config. I have this camera. The solution is install the new kernel 2.6.20 in your system. It is easy, you have to obtain the kernel in www.kernel.org. Then, you have to compile this kernel (There are a lot how to in the web). Now, I can download the pictures like a pen drive with my sony dsc-w100. There are one problem, you only can download the pictures like a external device (NO with digikam and another similar programs) but It isn't a problem to me.
