Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince
Evince fails to open PDF files that do not contain a suffix. The error reported in the document window is: Unable to open document Error opening file: Permission denied To reproduce: - identify a valid PDF file (with .pdf suffix) - ln file.pdf file (same content, different names) - attempt to open both files. The suffix-less file will fail. I'm nearly certain that this is a regression from Karmic. -Reece ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Fri Mar 5 13:53:50 2010 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/evince InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" - Alpha i386 (20100113) Package: evince 2.29.91-0ubuntu1 ProcEnviron: SHELL=/bin/bash PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-14.20-generic SourcePackage: evince Uname: Linux 2.6.32-14-generic i686 mtime.conffile..etc.apparmor.d.usr.bin.evince: 2010-02-22T08:55:35.288564 ** Affects: evince (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 lucid -- evince unable to open PDF file without suffix https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/532956 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
