Njorl thank you for responding to so quickly to my request. Being very
presumptuous, it seems you may be affected by a known hardware issue

Re: [Bug 545559] Re: Calculator acted funny. (Wasn't really paying attention, sorry.)

2010-09-13 Thread Njorl
Thank you for following up.

I am very sorry to have nothing to contribute.

I am an infrequent user of the calculator, and have seen no similar
occurrence. I have used both Karmic and Lucid for a few months, recently
switching to Lucid on both PCs (32 bit and 64 bit).

If there is not a clear clue to a bug, and are no significant reports of
similar incidents, I think my report should be forgotten. I suspect (but
I'm not certain when I moved my better PC to 64 bit), from it being an i386
release, that the error was encountered on my antiquated PC, which is a
little short of memory (246M - graphics usage). So, this might have been a
bad read from the swap file, or even just a memory fault, I suppose.
(Having worked in software development for a few years, I've learnt never
lightly to suggest a hardware error.)

Regards,
Adam
