Binary package hint: xchat-gnome

Some servers, including
* the default xchat-gnome server "irc.ubuntu.com" (on port 7000)
* FreeNode "irc.freenode.net" (port 7000, too)
support SSL. I suggest activating SSL support for these networks by default to 
increase privacy and security.
