I will post it into Brainstorm. It's not pointless because I suggest enabling SSL primarly for FreeNode (and maybe other supporting networks as well). Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion! Enabling SSL would be rather pointless without also removing the public logs (http://irclogs.ubuntu.com/).
