I'm experiencing the same problem. I've did upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10 Beta, Netbook edition. When I start in "normal Gnome Session", I get no window controls and menus on applications where these items appears on top bar of the new Netbook edition GUI. If I start in Gnome failsafe, everything works fine.
