The only cdrkit I could find was cdrkit-doc. I widened my scope of updates to include the proposed objects, and got a big update. Strangely, before the update, but after the chanve, cdrdao showed as uninstalled where it showed as installed before this. If brasero was looking for a specific version, its error message leaves something to be desired. Widening the scope of updates was no help. An apparently new cdrdao was loaded, but no soap. The matter is not so urgent that I am going to wade through all the stuff in the cdrkit documentation to try and do this by hand. However, whatever is going on should be solved. I think brasero is looking for cdrdao in the wrong place. On my machine it is in /usr/bin. If brasero is looking anywhere else, it explains why it doesn't find it. -- Brasero will not copy cd to image file because cdrdao is not present.
