I'm confirm this bug in Ubuntu 10.04.3 with Deja Dup 14.2 and duplicity 0.6.08b-0ubuntu2.1. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/606292 Title: WebDAV backend leaks a lot of memory To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/606292/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

vkapas, I agree that this bug is still present in 10.04. But 10.04 Desktop is no longer supported. Please upgrade to 12.04, which shouldn't have this bug.

[Bug 606292] Re: WebDAV backend leaks a lot of memory
OK. I've confirmed that on 10.04.4, both VIRT and RES climb when transfering over webdav. But at least on 12.04.1 and up, only VIRT climbs. So I think this bug has been fixed upstream. VIRT climbing alone I believe just means that the memory is being fragmented easily. Not that there is a leak. I'll mark incomplete until anyone can verify if they still see a leak on a recent Ubuntu. ** Changed in: gvfs (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/606292 Title: WebDAV backend leaks a lot of memory To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/606292/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 606292] Re: WebDAV backend leaks a lot of memory
OK, circling back on this. For testing, I've found that https://cloudsafe.com/ gives free 2GB webdav accounts for use. Once your account is set up, you can reproduce a climbing VIRT count in top by doing the following: gvfs-mount davs://XXX.webdav.cloudsafe.com/ while true; do gvfs-copy YYY davs://XXX.webdav.cloudsafe.com/; done Looking further.

Hey Michael, assigning to you since you started looking at it from the comments ... if you don't think you will have time for that feel free to assign to canonical-desktop-team (we want to fix because that's an issue the unity team raised recently as well since the dash is running into it while fetching only content) ** Changed in: gvfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = High ** Changed in: gvfs (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Michael Terry (mterry) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/606292 Title: WebDAV backend leaks a lot of memory To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/606292/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
