i dont care about 10.10 :-) i have lucid 10.04 LTS installed, which will last longer than 10.10 /etc/lsb-release:DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION=Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS I dont know why it seems my distro is 9.10 as i upgraded to lucid (10.04). you can report a new bug if you want but these type of bugs are generally not fixed in LTS releases. only crashes/critical regressions are fixed. and a normal user wont go to remove mail-notification and also when its being removed it tells you that empathy will also be removed. PS: the problem could also be caused by any ppa you are using since the package mail-notification does not come with ubuntu-10.04 pre-installed. in LTS releases. only crashes/critical regressions are fixed. Oh, thanks, i did not know this. I did not add other packages sources, but upgraded from xubuntu 9.04 to 9.10 then 10.04. Starting from a shell, i have no error when trying to start empathy without mail-notification. The program is started somewhere, but do not open GUI, and nothing is written in the shell.
