I have the same problem. I found the file extension is missing from the file name. Example, I synced a new podcast and then I added the the mp3 file extension and it worked. So, currently I'm reading up how to wright a command to rename multiply files on my iPod after I have completed my sync. I am going to try the command 'mmv' looks like it might work. Same problem with Apple, Inc. iPod Nano 4.Gen on upgraded 32Bit Ubuntu 10.10RC. Some more information: 1) When I play the song that won't play in the iPod from Rhythmbox or gtkpod, it will play. So, the song bits make it to the iPod correctly. 2) It works correctly with an iPod Touch. 3) It worked correctly before I upgraded to Maverick.
