Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
in 10.04 renaming a file would just preselect the file name, not the filename and the extension; it now (10.04) selects the entire thing it is _much_ more useful to not preselect the extension for filenames like it used to; almost all of the time that is the intended behavior, rarely do you change the extension this is a high profile regression for my common usage of ubuntu/nautilus, i'm often renaming files.
