This is causing users problems, more every day, and there is no benefit to having it as a default active option (not sure if the option has any value at all. With the box inactive - when used on dir.'s the app chosen will still be added to the 'open with' menu, but not set as default folder handler. I've followed the test case and do the testing for the proposed package in Lucid and Maverick, and can confirm that the bug is fixed with the proposed package, the 'remember this application for...' button is no longer there.
