[Bug 74232] Re: make panels switch places
There's not something like 'the panel with the launched programs list', there is a notable difference between the panel itself and its items. If you place two panels at the top you can, for example, freely move the programs list to the bottom panel. What items you place on what panel is entirely up to you to decide. -- make panels switch places https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/74232 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 74232] Re: make panels switch places
I'll explain it a bit. We've got 2 panels under Ubuntu one of which contains main menu button, clock, etc. and the secont one has a list of programs launched. Theay are located at the opposite sides of the screen. Now, in the properties of the lower bar I select that it should be located at the top. It moves there and is placed below the first bar which is correct from the usability point of view (the shortest way to switch app). Yet after reboot panels switch places which is wrong. I believe the latter should be fixed. -- make panels switch places https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/74232 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 74232] Re: make panels switch places
Hey, come on! This is way too obvious from the usability point. BTW, I believe placing both panels at the top is a preferable default. -- make panels switch places https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/74232 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 74232] Re: make panels switch places
Thanks for your report. Your idea might get more attention and have the possibility of being implemented if you would submit a specification for this. You should first check whether it already exists at the Ubuntu specs page (https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+specs) in Launchpad. If that is the case, feel free to contact the drafter of that spec about your comments/suggestions. Otherwise you can start writing a spec following the steps described in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FeatureSpecifications. ** Changed in: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Roel Huybrechts Status: Unconfirmed = Rejected -- make panels switch places https://launchpad.net/bugs/74232 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
