Well, I formatted and reinstalled Ubuntu. I couldn't figure out what effect might be causing it, but I did go ahead and take a screenshot so you can see the problem. This is happening to me too and it's really annoying. It must have something to do with effects because it doesn't happen when I log in using Ubuntu Classic (No Effects). But which effect could be causing this?
