I have explored and I think that transparent window is when i don't use it before starting beryl, but just after. If I use the window (up or down the volume) before starting beryl, she stay. Maybe not a bug. -- [Feisty] Sound manager window is different https://launchpad.net/bugs/83724 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Can you use beryl and compiz at the same time? If not could you try to run compiz and not beryl and note if the same thing is happening? Your explanations are not clear. The transparent window is used after beryl start, not before. But I report because if I close beryl the transparent window is still used or if I use the sound manager before beryl start, after starting beryl it stay normal (not transparent). But I think that's not important. Thank you for your bug. Do you use GNOME? If I close beryl, the transparent window become not transparent. But when I start beryl, the window is the same than with Edgy. I don't understand but you may right, Beryl seems too add the second screen. (But it seems to work bad). -- [Feisty] Sound manager window is different https://launchpad.net/bugs/83724 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 83724] Re: [Feisty] Sound manager window is different
What do you call randomly, does it change when you use the key several time or it's having one look or the other in a consistant way? The transparent window is a gnome-control-center feature used when a composite manager is running. Maybe there is problem with the function doing that choice. Does it happen if you use compiz? -- [Feisty] Sound manager window is different https://launchpad.net/bugs/83724 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
Re: [Bug 83724] Re: [Feisty] Sound manager window is different
