Still happens in 13.10. Here is an example PDF that prints an empty page for me in 13.04 or 13.10. This printing is done over the network (internet connection actualy). Local printer prints find using Ubuntu 13.04. Remote printer can print other documents, just not pdf files. This also happens to me. On one machine running 12.04, it will print a blank page. evince shows pdf correctly, even as print overview.
