No, because there still should be a convenient way to create a tab. Actually ... it is useful to display the whole tab as well as a +, as you can then easily drag it into another window. This seems to be fixed. Shift+Ctrl+T opens a new tab and there is a close button on each tab. What would be the reason to show tab if there is only one?
