[Bug 553655] Re: rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV in free()

2010-04-08 Thread Christopher "cv"
I will install beta 2 right now and tell you more afterwards. Right now
rhythmbox is working but this is (in my opinion) only the case because I
installed all possible debug files, so these debug files seem to skip
the bug.

I think it's impolite to mark this bug as incomplete after all my effort
with the valgrind logs. This is the most complete report ever.

[Bug 558775] [NEW] 10.04 freezes everytime

2010-04-08 Thread Phoenix.Chen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: yelp

Start from lucid alpha1, everytime I use LiveUSB to test lucid, the OS
freezes every time I do any operation to the OS(open folder, run an app,
and anything related to open a new window). But I can refresh the
desktop or checkout gnome-panel. After the OS crashes, mouse is freezed,
and everything is not responsed. I have to cut off the power of my
Toshiba Satellite A105 to get out of the dark screen. I know ubuntu
10.04 final is coming in 21 days, and I have been a super ubuntu fan for
2 years. I hope you can solve this problem for me and let me continue my

[Bug 543691] Re: gvfsd leaks memory whenever there is a CD is the cd drive

2010-04-08 Thread Exüberance
Unfortunately I had to send the laptop this bug occurs on to be fixed
(for an unrelated problem), but it gave me a chance to see if this
happens on a desktop computer, and it does not, so it seems to be
specific to certain types of cd drives. I'm not the only person to have
this problem, however, so faulty hardware seems very unlikely. I will
attach a valgrind log as soon as I get the computer back.

Also, how can I run valgrind on a critical process?

[Bug 558789] [NEW] evolution IMAP TSL shows header info; mail body not viewable

My 10 beta system evolution lists email headers, but there is nothing
in preview pane. If I double click an email, the email window opens but
never shows the message contents. It shows an endlessly spinning
"loading" wheel and the message, "Formatting Message". Message never
appears. I waited 30 minutes. I rebooted and tried again.

[Bug 558798] [NEW] RAID not recognized until Array restart

2010-04-08 Thread RioKuro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-disk-utility

After a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx Beta 2 on it's release day, my
already existing RAID 0 set was not recognized by nautilus. It didn't show up
in the Places menu or in the left side pane in nautilus.
In the Computer folder it just said "Array" but it wouldn't start and mount.

After installing mdadm it completely disappeared. In gnome-disk-utility
It did show and it said it has been started but it didn't had a size.
Only after stopping and starting the array it got a size and it showed
up in all the places it should.

Now after every boot i have to restart the array before i can use it.

Note: the array was created in gnome-disk-utility on Arch Linux with
mdadm installed.

[Bug 558797] [NEW] totem moves to another desktop when pressing [Ctrl]+H

2010-04-08 Thread Johannes Haupt
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

When pressing Ctrl+H in Totem to hide the play controls, everthing happens as
expected, they are being hidden alright.
But when pressing the shortcut again, the controls reappear, but the totem
window moves one desktop up (or down, but only vertically), as I use multiple
virtual desktops (2x2 desktops, accomplished with compiz).

This problem hasn't happened before lucid, meaning it appeared in 2.29.x
and 2.30.0.

I find it astounding that the default GDM install in Lucid still does
not have this fixed.

[Bug 554036] Re: some .CR2 (RAW) pictures are displayed mirrored

2010-04-08 Thread Jan-Christoph Borchardt
I don't quite understand the first paragraph. Sounds like the reason is
that the file is corrupted? This happens only for some pictures, I can
not recognize a pattern.

I can now confirm them failing to open in F-Spot though. File corruption
seems quite possible here. :(

I'll try unflipping, opening them on other computers and repairing them
somehow. A shame that I don't look at my RAWs too often.

Thanks.

[Bug 558816] [NEW] gnome-power-manager(?) makes my screen flicker and hibernates my computer. Even with power cable attached.

2010-04-08 Thread Mattias Bengtsson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

My laptop is quite old (4,5 years to be exact) but is fine considering its age.
The battery life is real low though (as expected).
I recently upgraded to Lucid and the first few days it was working nicely.
However a few days ago the computer started hibernating because of low power
(complete with a notification and everything) even though the power coord was
plugged in. This happened every time i used the computer and always after
around 1-15 minutes of usage. I thought maybe the connections in the computer
was at fault but then i managed to kill the GDM session, install blackbox and
run that session instead of gnome and i have now been using my computer for
about 1,5 hour. I suspect that gnome-power-manager is at fault here. This is
just an educated guess though.

This bug is affecting me too. As Jan Pinkas say in Ubuntu 9.10 the lid
close/open recognition was working perfectly. Now in Ubuntu 10.04 it
doesn't work. It neither works in KDE and I wonder why because KDE has
another power-daemon.

[Bug 402017] Re: GDM login theme change when using accessibility features

2010-04-08 Thread Jeff Epstein
This still happens under Lucid Beta 2, as well.

I should point out that (on my machine, at least) logging in and then
logging back out, or rebooting the machine, or restarting X, results in
the theme and colors returning to normal. It's not necessary to edit
config files. That is, the unexpected theming is only temporary.
Nevertheless, this is a weird usability bug, and disconcerting to a new
user.

[Bug 558853] [NEW] PC does not hybernate

2010-04-08 Thread igi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

In my Ubuntu 09.10 Karmic and 10.04 Lucid beta2 installation, when requested to
hybernate (from the power icon in the panel) the PC gets frozen:
  - the monitor is switched off;
  - the HD read/write LED stays ON.

Then, when I force to shutdown from the PC power button and I reboot,
after the fscheck, no wired LAN network is detected (according what the
related panel icon says).

To finally restore functionality, I have to reboot once again.

The hybernation worked properly with my HW till I left Jaunty for Intrepid.

Re: [Bug 537742] Re: Duplicate mails in inbox

2010-04-08 Thread Luis Gallardo
Hello Pedro.

I wrote you a while back and I have not heard back from you. The
workaround you proposed did not work because inside the evolution folder
I did not find the .index file you mention. Is there any other way to
fix this problem?

Please advise.

Luis Gallardo.

please backup your email and try as a workaround to delete the .index
files located at ~/.evolution; but do not do that before backing up all
your information. let us know how that goes. thanks.

[Bug 558872] [NEW] empathy accounts fail to connect after manually unlocking keyring

2010-04-08 Thread Waldo000000
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

The following problem only occurs when I use auto-login.

If I DO NOT use auto-login, empathy is automatically started after
logging in and my accounts connect automatically, i.e. there's a green
speech bubble icon in the indicator applet and my contact list is
populated.

If I DO use auto-login, upon starting up I am prompted with "Enter
password to unlock your login keyring". I enter my keyring successfully,
but then empathy does not appear to be started at all (e.g. no speech
bubble icon in the indicator applet). If I manually start empathy via
the Indicator Applet, the contacts window is blank. If I then do Edit ->
Accounts, my accounts are "Offline - Status is set to offline". If I
uncheck "Enabled" and then recheck "Enabled", the accounts connect and
are reported as "Available". However, the contacts window remains blank.
If I Quit empathy and then start empathy again, everything is fine (I
finally get the green speech bubble icon and can see my contacts).

[Bug 514658] Re: The sound is always muted at start

2010-04-08 Thread Dudude
I do not have the sound muted problem with the normal desktop Totem
("Movie Player"), but every time I open a file with the totem-mozilla
plugin, the sound is muted. Changing the volume in the plugin, closing
it, and starting it again has the volume re-muted.

The install of Lucid I have is from Alpha 2 and I am using the 64 bit
version.

This issue has been occurring since I installed Lucid, even through
updates.

[Bug 558893] [NEW] Metacity crashes periodically

2010-04-08 Thread Joeseph
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: metacity

Metacity has been crashing without an error on my hardware since

course, it never crashes inside the terminal, so I cannot say with what

relevant information to add.

[Bug 558904] [NEW] gstreamer no longer playing nonfree media files

2010-04-08 Thread NoahY
Public bug reported:

I've never had a problem with playing restricted formats in Ubuntu,
until upgrading to Lucid development branch. Not sure what happened,
but now when I click on an mp4 or flv video in nautilus, it opens up
totem and asks whether I would like to search for a suitable codec. I
let it search, and it finds nothing, so it starts playing the audio
only. At first, even mplayer and vlc would also no longer play the
files. mplayer gave an error on startup as follows:

mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libopencore-amrnb.so.0:
wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32

So, I built libopencore-amrnb0 from source and installed it and now
mplayer and vlc are playing the videos fine. Totem still refuses to
recognize the videos. I assume I've done something to bork my system,
but I would appreciate any input or suggestions for further debugging
this problem.

Thanks to everyone for their work.

[Bug 558898] [NEW] gnome-terminal crashes, kills maximus and netbook environment

2010-04-08 Thread Anthony Hook
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

I'm not quite sure how to describe this, but sometimes when I open
gnome-terminal, it doesn't maximize to the entire screen (as it should
using maximus) and the netbook-launcher doesn't respond as it should
afterwords. Attached is a screenshot.
