[Bug 39640] Re: [2.0beta3] gaim: status pulldown menu is half empty (drawn offscreen)
This happened to me, but I was able to scroll down to see the rest of the menu. Considering that I keep the buddy list stretched from the top to the bottom of the screen, this can be a pain. I would rather have it where the list just goes above the button if it needs to (or always). Public bug reported: Binary package hint: libbeagle0 I am beagle enabled, and it took over nautilus (they are integrated together). Sebastian, has this been committed yet? We're at gstreamer 0.10.6 now, after the dapper release, and it still doesn't show menus or allow moving through a movie's timeline. Wait, this is all wrong. Why is there any screensavers active at all on the liveCD? Eugenia, you are bringing a lot of light into this issue for me by your last comment, thanks. Could you point to a link regarding that Fluendo cannot do it, it must be community-made thing? [Bug 103630] Re: Include attached new GTK actions icons in Tango for Feisty (was: 20x20 new icons not in index.theme)
I must add some pressure here. Very few are the third party icon themes which inherit Human or Tangerine, but A LOT of icon themes inherit Tango and gnome. Please please please, don't limit this to Human Tangerine. These themes are the default but they are not the most widely used. Covering Tango would cover the last big remaining chunk (ideally, we should cover gnome icon theme). It's a shame I am forced to use Tangerine (the pale orange icons in toolbars do not work well with my eyes) because Tango is now the less complete theme. Actually, Tangerine inherits Tango! Why the duck was this not fixed in Tango directly instead of doing it in Tangerine as a priority? Doing it in Tango would have fixed Tangerine anyway. -- Include attached new GTK actions icons in Tango for Feisty (was: 20x20 new icons not in index.theme) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103630 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for tango-icon-theme in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 106838] title bars in gnome apps have gone missing
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I updated yesterday afternoon, and rebooted later that evening. When GNOME started up, all of the applications title bars were missing, I was unable to switch between windows by mouse or keyboard, and some applications appear to be segfaulting. You'll have to forgive how lame this bug report is. The copy/paste mechanism is behaving inconsistently, as well. I've figured out that gnome-keybinding-properties segfaults right after opening pango-basic-fc.so and /var/lib/defoma/fontconfig.d/D/DejaVu-Sans.ttf from running strace -eopen on it. Here's the last few lines of it: ' open(/proc/meminfo, O_RDONLY) = 15 open(/usr/lib/pango/1.6.0/modules/pango-basic-fc.so, O_RDONLY) = 15 open(/var/lib/defoma/fontconfig.d/D/DejaVu-Sans.ttf, O_RDONLY) = 15 --- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) @ 0 (0) --- +++ killed by SIGSEGV (core dumped) +++ Process 24534 detached Now, the fun part is, when I run `valgrind gnome-keybinding-properties` it starts up fine, with some complaints about memory leaks. [Bug 87960] installing compiz will make using metacity impossible (even after uninstalling)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-session It seems that debian ubuntu include a patched /usr/bin/gnome-wm file, which is part of the gnome-session package. The comment at the top says: # The user can specify his prefered WM by setting the WINDOW_MANAGER # environment variable or setting the # /desktop/gnome/applications/window_manager/default gconf key. # # If this is not set, we search a list of known windowmanagers and use # the first one that is found in the users's PATH The big problem is this: it will prevent metacity from being used if compiz is not avaible. To reproduce: 1- install compiz 2- use compiz, a gconf key /desktop/gnome/applications/window_manager/default will be set to /usr/bin/compiz 3- uninstall/purge the compiz packages 4- logout and try loggin into gnome: metacity will never start no matter what you do with your session Looking at .xsession_errors, you see the reason: gnome-wm tries to call compiz because it read the gconf key and did not check the binary actually existed. This is completely crazy. If the binary is not present, don't try running it, fallback to metacity! Actually, if *anything* goes wrong, fallback to metacity! Note: this hack is not present in vanilla gnome it seems: http://svn.gnome.org/viewcvs/gnome-session/trunk/gnome-session/gnome- wm?revision=4186view=markup Users can be locked out of their sessions because of this. As root, launch gdmsetup and set local login to standard greeter with no background. Then open xscreensaver-demo, find your favourite screensaver, hit Settings, Advanced, and note down the command line. Convert the program to a full path - if it isn't in your path, it's probably in /usr/lib/misc/xscreensaver. Then, edit /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf, find the BackgroundProgram line and set it to something like: File: /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf BackgroundProgram=/usr/lib/misc/xscreensaver/skyrocket --root or # BackgroundProgram=/usr/lib/misc/xscreensaver/xmatrix -root -small -delay 2 Now restart gdm /etc/init.d/xdm restart and watch the screensaver paint the root window behind the login box! What other OS can do that? [Bug 29443] sftp URLs get highlighted as ftp URLs
Public bug reported: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/29443 Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: In a non-HTML message, evolution attempts to guess URIs and turn them into clickable links. It doesn't seems to recognise sftp as a URI and instead comes out roughly like: suftp://user:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:p/uort/relative/path Tks, Jeff Bailey -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 29443] sftp URLs get highlighted as ftp URLs
Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/29443 Comment: Mm, I should be clearer. The u and /u bits aren't literal, it's where the underline clickable bit goes. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 18671] Can't turn the Candy bar off
Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/18671 Comment: My candy disappeared ! Please give a way to reactivate it. Don't force me to use a dull non-animated theme again for dapper, please! Even on my 7 years old laptop, the theme does look very good and does not lag / hog performances at all ! -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 29690] Freecell fails to work on platforms where qthreads is not available
Public bug reported: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/29690 Affects: gnome-games (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: Upstream of Freecell have decided to make the game threaded. As a side effect, it means that guile now needs thread support in order for Freecell to work. Guile on PPC and amd64 doesn't have thread support. There are two ways to solve this: 1) Port qthreads on these architectures. This is not terribly hard, but is still a reasonable amount of work to make sure it's right. The reason to not do this is that guile 1.8 no longer uses qthreads, so upstream isn't going to care about this patch (although they will accept it in their stable release). 2) Hack freecell to not use threads for now. The use of threads was presumably some asthetic decision by upstream. Perhaps the freecell help system now provides stunningly useful hints instead of just any available choice? It would be sad to lose that functionality. ;) Tks, Jeff Bailey -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 25905] never call debian/control rule and build this file during the build
Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/25905 Changed in: cdbs (upstream) Assignee: (unassigned) = Jeff Bailey Comment: CDBS should handle this case gracefully. Specifically, 1) debian/rules debian/control should fail hard unless an environment variable is set. 2) The rule should be called automatically. This will cause an FTBFS on the buildd where the debian/control file is out of date while still preserving the autogenerate function for maintainers who like this feature. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
