External deps: update poppler
Hi, poppler has just released 0.5.9 version. This version has changed the API in the glib bindings and a lot of important bugs have been fixed. Evince now depends on this new version, so I suggest to update both the minimum and required version of poppler to 0.5.9 for GNOME 2.20. -- Carlos Garcia Campos [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://carlosgc.linups.org PGP key: http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=getsearch=0x523E6462 signature.asc Description: Esta parte del mensaje está firmada digitalmente ___ desktop-devel-list mailing list desktop-devel-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/desktop-devel-list

So is there a room between blessed external dependencies and no external dependencies ? Yes, it's called optional external dependencies. I know this is frustrating for you, and I apologize for that. Thanks for being patient. Hopefully PolicyKit shapes up quickly for 2.22 and does everything you want. Re: External Deps: increase recommended version for dbus-glib to 0.73

Reasons to increase recommended version: * as per [1] there was 2 bug fixing updates * telepathy-glib needs 0.72 I suggest to keep 0.71 as minimum version, but update recommended to 0.73 to dump yet fixed bugs and allow build of telepathy based software. Please note that in 0.73 there is an API addition[2] Done. ___ desktop-devel-list mailing list desktop-devel-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/desktop-devel-list

We should probably delegate upgrades of versions of existing external dependencies to the BuildBrigade. Thoughts? That works a lot better than sourceforge for us. So the 'latest' packages for us are actually earlier than that. We need to either get updated pwlib/opal tarballs, or downgrade ekiga temporarily. Actually, I think I switched jhbuild to just build ekiga from tarballs precisely due to this super-strict pwlib opal version dependency issue. Maybe that should just be reflected in the wiki, with the understanding that it can and will update quite often? ___ desktop-devel-list mailing list desktop-devel-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/desktop-devel-list
