Nautilus claims that the destination drive is read-only when in fact it is not. How to reproduce: 1. Connect a USB stick drive to your competer. 2. The USB will appear in the desktop. 3. Open two Nautilus windows one in your home folder, other in the USB stick drive. 4. Select any file from your home folder (small enough to fit the free space in the USB drive) 5. Only latin letters and numbers are used. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 738063] Re: gnome-keyring-daemon assertion failures when changing password remotely
Nobody else but you have reported that issue ; you are the only one affected. So i wonder if you are using that system since the Lucid installation (or even before) and have made lots of dist-upgrading ? It shoulb be helpfull to know which kind of formatted partition are used. Are you able to reproduce that issue with a fresh installation ? As you can see , the bug team have not paid attention to that report because you only are affected, and the report as not been made using ubuntu-bug via apport. ** Changed in: gnome-keyring (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-keyring in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/738063 Title: gnome-keyring-daemon assertion failures when changing password remotely Status in gnome-keyring package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Binary package hint: gnome-keyring Changing password remotely results in the following assertion failures in auth.log: Mar 19 09:49:18 gx1 passwd[17883]: pam_unix(passwd:chauthtok): password changed for test123 Mar 19 09:49:18 gx1 gnome-keyring-daemon[17886]: gp11_module_get_slots: assertion `data-funcs' failed Mar 19 09:49:18 gx1 gnome-keyring-daemon[17886]: lookup_login_session: assertion `slot' failed Mar 19 09:49:18 gx1 gnome-keyring-daemon[17886]: lookup_login_keyring: assertion `GP11_IS_SESSION (session)' failed Mar 19 09:49:18 gx1 gnome-keyring-daemon[17886]: create_credential: assertion `GP11_IS_SESSION (session)' failed Mar 19 09:49:18 gx1 gnome-keyring-daemon[17886]: egg_error_message: assertion `error' failed Mar 19 09:49:18 gx1 gnome-keyring-daemon[17886]: couldn't create new login credential: (unknown) Mar 19 09:49:18 gx1 passwd[17883]: gkr-pam: couldn't change password for the login keyring: the passwords didn't match. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1487702] [NEW] [SATELLITE C50-B, Realtek ALC233, Mic, Internal] No autoswitch
Public bug reported: It is a Toshiba Satellite C50-B-15N to be precise. It has a single combo plug, and Ubuntu fails to switch to the headset microphone when a combo jack is plugged in. Sometimes even the output fails switching to phones, but it only happens very seldom, and after a reboot it works fine again. But the mic just never ever switches, only the laptop's built-in one is always working. I am using an up to date Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet with Unity and standard audio set-up. I haven't (yet) change anything audio-related. I have started this bug with apport, so I believe most of these details are reported there. Probably a different bug, but it could be related: The built-in mic is stereo, but only its left side is actually working, as a normal single- channel mic. The right side is deaf. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1021375] Re: Nautilus says the USB stick is read only when it is not
And it just got really interesting. After fighting this issue for hours, I gave up and resolved to copying by terminal. By force of habit, I accidently used nautilus once more to copy, after copying a batch of files by terminal, and presto, it works. Nautilus now copies files without complaining. I don't understand what happens here. Some cache of file / partition permissions that went old and was refreshed? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1021375 Title: Nautilus says the USB stick is read only when it is not Status in Nautilus: Unknown Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: First time I use an USB drive since I updated to 12.04 and I found a really annoying bug on Nautilus. Drag the file and drop it in the USB drive window. -- Nautilus will say that it cannot copy the file because the destination is read ony -- If you try the copy the same file with the terminal you will see that the file is copied without problem, other programs like gedit or LibreOffice can write in the usb stick drive just fine. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1487168] Re: [Emulated AD1980 AC97 inside Virualbox 5.0, playback] volume slider problem
bit 5 LOSEL LINE_OUT Amplifiers Input Select. This bit allows the LINE_OUT output amplifiers to be driven by the mixer or the surround DACs. The main purpose for this is to allow swapping of the front and surround channels to make better use of the SURR/HP_OUT output amplifiers. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1487819] [NEW] Wily user UI shows auto-login off after selecting on during install
Public bug reported: Just testing Ubuntu GNOME Wily 20150822 i386 and I've noticed that in spite of selecting auto-login = on during installation when the installation is complete and after first boot opening Settings Users the UI shows off, but auto-login is working properly and if you toggle the UI back and forth from off to on a couple of times it seems to start working properly. This bit allows the surround, center, and LFE volume control registers and output attenuators to operate in a more functional mode than defined by the AC97 2.2 spec. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1487702] Re: [SATELLITE C50-B, Realtek ALC233, Mic, Internal] No autoswitch
I have tried adding options snd-hda-intel model=dell-headset-multi to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf. Sound settings seem to recognize a headset is plugged with that option, but the headset's mic itself remains deaf, no matter how much boost I give it. I guess the option isn't working correctly, because, obviously, I am not running a Dell laptop, but also because I am running the Realtek ALC233 codec, and that option model is only listed as working on codecs ALC269/270/275/276/28x/29x and ALC66x/67x/892. I am talking about this list: http://git.alsa-project.org/?p=alsa-kernel.git;a=blob;f=Documentation/sound/alsa/HD-Audio-Models.txt;hb=HEAD Funny thing is that ALC233 is not listed there at all... Anyway, it seems like, for now, the closest I could get to make a headset working was with that Dell-related option. I hope that helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1487702 Title: [SATELLITE C50-B, Realtek ALC233, Mic, Internal] No autoswitch Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: It is a Toshiba Satellite C50-B-15N to be precise. Probably a different bug, but it could be related: The built-in mic is stereo, but only its left side is actually working, as a normal single-channel mic. The right side is deaf. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1487168] Re: [Emulated AD1980 AC97 inside Virualbox 5.0, playback] volume slider problem
bit12 LODIS Line_out Disable. Disables the Line_out pins (L/R), placing them into High-Z mode so that the assigned output audio jack can be shared for Line Input function. 0 = Line_out pins have normal audio drive capability (reset default). 1 = Line_out pins are placed into High-Z mode. linout is disabled if it is a real ad1980 as your emulauted ad1980 does not has headphone out -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1487168 Title: [Emulated AD1980 AC97 inside Virualbox 5.0, playback] volume slider problem Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in virtualbox package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Volume Slider is only controlling PCM channel and is not controlling Master. ** Changed in: update-manager (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to policykit-1 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1189677 Title: update-manager failing to install anything in saucy Status in policykit-1 package in Ubuntu: New Status in update-manager package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: In saucy, update-manager is completely failing to install any packages. It auto-launches and presents me the list of packages to install; but when I click 'Install now', the window closes and update- manager exits. Running u-m from the console shows there are no error messages and the process exits 0. If I run update-manager without the '--no-update' flag, I'm given a dialog saying: You are not allowed to perform this action You don't have the required privileges to perform this action.
