This used to work with the previous chromium version. Also, google-chrome-stable 53.0.2785.101-1 works fine on the same box, so the issue is with the chromium update. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1364905] Re: new item panel's "Ok" button disabled (github version works)
I do not know if this is relating to the bug, I made an account to propose something that fixed my problem which is very similar and may fix your problem. If your path has a space in it, add a \ before the space. It doesn't do this automagically so it will refuse to be made since this is an error. Also if you wish to use this .desktop file in the "open with" right click menu you will also need to add "%f" at the end of the binaries path since it also does not automatically do this either. [Test Case] Disable/re-enable your Google account. When affected by this bug, a notification will appear and you'll be asked to enter your Google password in the Online Accounts panel in System Settings. [Regression Potential] Minimal: the fix is a backport of a patch from the evolution-data-server code which is already in 14.10, and which only touches the calendar code (which is currently broken). Old description === [Test Case] Sometimes after one day, sometimes after one week, the system indicator will turn red and the Google account will be marked as needing reauthentication. Time can vary, but any period shorter than one month is a symptom of the bug. [Regression Potential] Minimal: the change to the Google plugin (in account-plugins) simply changes the authentication method, in a way that is well-documented. The change in signon-plugin-oauth2 affects only those accounts/providers which use the OAuth refresh tokens -- which is only Google, at the moment -- and in a way that can't possibly break any existing functionality; if the new code had some mistake, the refresh token would be unusable and the system would automatically fall back to requesting a new access token (which is exactly what happens now, with this bug). I'll try to find why the account-plugins package was not uploaded; indeed, both are required in order to fix this bug. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1021375] Re: Nautilus says the USB stick is read only when it is not
It occurred for me yesterday for the first time ever. I have Dell XPS netbook running 64bit 16.04, upgraded from 14.04. Been using Ubuntu for many many years on many machines, never seen this before. Symptoms: With one of my thumb-drives, I could copy/move files in terminal without any problems, but Nautilus complained about the drive being read-only. Interestingly, using Nautilus, I could still delete files I copied using terminal. Today the bug doesn't occur with the same thumb-drive. Thumb drive is not brand new (1~2 years old), but there are no problems with it as far as I can see. Between yesterday and today: I didn't shut down the system on which bug showed up, however I suspended it. Also, I used the drive with other Ubuntu machine. nautilus --version GNOME nautilus 3.14.3 lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1585863] Re: WiFi malfunction after suspend & resume stress - sudo wpa_cli scan required to fix it.
I've reproduced this on a Thinkpad 410s running 16.04 LTS. The version of network-manager I used is the latest from xenial-updates: 1.2.2-0ubuntu0.16.04.3. A few comments: 1) The fwts s3 test uses a low-level API to exercise suspend/resume. I've been working with the fwts maintainer on an extension to fwts that allows it to call out to a hook script on each iteration. This makes it possible to ensure that scanning is active for each iteration. 2) I've done some preliminary testing of the version of NM in xenial- proposed (1.2.4-0ubuntu0.16.04.1), and although it looked promising at first, I was still able to reproduce the bug. 3) We're pretty sure we know which patch [1] caused the issue, and are working to determine the best way to fix it. The fix provided in comment #5 appears to resolve it, but unfortunately it breaks the original patch's behavior. @taiebot65 It sounds like you're hitting a different problem, so it'd probably be best if you filed a new bug. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1658822] [NEW] Printer not connected
Public bug reported: I cannot print to my networked Brother HL-3170CDW from my wife's newly- installed 16.04 laptop. My other laptop running 14.04 prints flawlessly to the same printer. They are similar ASUS models. I did print from the new machine once, right after installing the drivers, but eventually I get a 'printer may not be connected' message, even if I delete and recreate the printer. The jobs just queue up, and the printer never leaves deep sleep mode. I don't think a signal is getting the the printer to wake it up. Of course, the CUPS version is different. The 14.04 machine (the one that is working) is running 1.7.2-0ubuntu1.7 and the 16.04 box is running 2.1.3. Sorry, but it's not with me, so I can't get much more specific that that. All updates have been applied, though, and I even tried the version in the experimental (proposed) repo. I've done my best to eliminate all other possible causes of the problem, such as... I'm using Brother print drivers downloaded from their site using the installer script (2.0.0-1). It currently pulls down version 1.1.2-1.i386 of the CUPS wrapper and lpr files automatically. I've also tried version 1.1.4-0.i386 of the CUPS wrapper that I kept from a previous download. The 1.1.4-0 driver is what works on the 14.04 machine. To eliminate potential network problems, I've changed many network settings. The printer is connected with a wire, not wifi. I have a static IP address on it, but I tried using DHCP just to see if that was an issue. Brother's best suggestion was to turn on IPv6, but that didn't solve the problem. I even changed the physical port on the switch, just to cover all the bases. I don't think it is a network problem at all, although I cannot always ping the printer from the new machine, whereas I can always reach it from the old machine. Thanks for the help! -Brandon ** Affects: cups (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to cups in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1658822 Title: Printer not connected Status in cups package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I cannot print to my networked Brother HL-3170CDW from my wife's newly-installed 16.04 laptop. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1656399] Re: Unable to unlock Xubuntu XFCE session after suspend.
The change in there is: Restore patch from 1.20.0-0ubuntu3: * Add debian/patches/terminate-session.patch: Terminate leftover processes in greeter session. It can happen that the greeter session does not properly clean up itself on logout. This causes leaked processes like settings-daemon which act on the user session as they share the same $DISPLAY. Ask logind to terminate remaining processes in the greeter session on closing, which is more robust than trying to fix every greeter. Still happening in 16.10 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to evolution-data-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1029289 Title: Need to authorize my google account each time I boot the computer Status in Online Accounts: Account plugins: Fix Released Status in Online Accounts: Sign-on UI: Fix Released Status in account-plugins package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in evolution-data-server package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in signon-plugin-oauth2 package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in account-plugins source package in Quantal: Fix Released Status in signon-plugin-oauth2 source package in Quantal: Fix Released Status in account-plugins source package in Trusty: Fix Released Status in evolution-data-server source package in Trusty: Fix Released Status in signon-plugin-oauth2 source package in Trusty: Fix Released Bug description: [Impact] Google calendar integration is broken, and users are requested to re-enter their Google password everytime they log in, or everytime they enable/disable their Google account from the System Settings. Only a power-switch reboot will recover. Hang NEVER occurs under Linux 3.11.0-20-generic and will ALWAYS hang when firefox is started under Linux 3.11.0-24-generic No differences after reinstalling the -24 system, and/or firefox using Synaptic Package Manager. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1585863] Re: WiFi malfunction after suspend & resume stress - sudo wpa_cli scan required to fix it.
Christian, the failure occurs to me even in a stationary scenario, it does not occur at all suspend/resume cycles, but randomly. (I could not establish a pattern anyway) In fact, what you described never occured to me, the network-manager UI doesn't show a stale list of wifi networks. In my case the list of access points appears empty and thus cannot connect to any. Running the wpa_cli scan command, or wpa_cli resume, or restarting the networkmanager, makes the access points reappear and the connection is instantaneous with the preferred network. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1585863 Title: WiFi malfunction after suspend & resume stress - sudo wpa_cli scan required to fix it.
