However, in Ubuntu 17.10, the volume is significantly low, that I've to scroll the volume slider above 100% mark in pulseaudio to the maximum to get acceptable level of sound. I suspect the sound quality also is low (mono-like), may be not coming from all speakers (perhaps subwoofer exist for this model). Also alsamixer shows the speaker volume at the maximum. A partial workaround which doesn't completely fix the issue but improves things is the following: Adding to /etc/pulse/default.pa, use_ucm=0 tsched=0 right after module- udev-detect and /etc/pulse/daemon resample-method = src-sinc-best-quality default-sample-format = s16le default-fragment-size-msec=80 default-sample-rate = 48000 Don't know which what specific parameter improved this, because when I test each one of those singularly doesn't totally fix the problem. I thought I have seen it appear in other programs too but I could reproduce it only in gnome-terminal. Thus, I hope that reporting it against gnome- terminal at least might help others find this bug. And maybe the developers of gnome-terminal can help to clarify the actual causes. Wow, I realized a few days ago that Shift+Enter and Ctrl+Shift+Enter didn't work anymore, I thought it was a bug in my Linux distribution... I'm surprised to see that this was a deliberate decision. I've been using these keyboard shortcuts for years (probably more than a decade) and I've always missed them when using another browser (they're one of the reasons I've kept using Firefox all these years, when a lot of people I know moved to Chrome for example) I do a lot of browsing in a private browsing window, so some websites I sometimes use are not (and never have been) in my navigation history or in my bookmarks. Neither do I want some of these websites in my history or bookmarks. The behavior, to me, looks like consistent with a some kind of a memory leak. All the click-able stuff still responds but resetting the terminal has no effect. The problem seems to be related to the level of activity in the terminal - when I open several of them at the same time, it is always the one being used the most that craps out. Any ideas? Is there anything I can do to help with this issue? It works if lightdm is used which is why I have reported this against gdm3 My sessions in this configuration have mostly crashed after a few minutes with a gdm3 fail whale message in syslog but nothing else looks interesting. After the last upgrade, thunderbird does not start anymore. It gives
no error message and only opens an empty frame, even when started with
"--safe-mode" or "-ProfileManager". Renaming/Removing ~/.thunderbird
does not change anything, neither does deleting ~/.mozilla-thunderbird
(which on my system is a symlink to .thunderbird), uninstalling
installed thunderbird-locales packages and/or reinstalling the core
thunderbird package.

Bug description:
Hi, 2 days ago without any obvious indicator, Firefox stopped
connecting to the web. I can send and receive email via Thunderbird
and am now using Google Chrome as an alternative browser. At
virtually the same time my mouse keeps on freezing and I have to shut
down and re-start my laptop in order to un-freeze it.
Both are extremely frustrating!

Bug description:
Whether it's plugin-container or firefox with html5 enabled, watching
youtube is cpu consuming.
Same thing happens whith chromium-browser.
Also when playing a simple ogg file(the one in examples folder) with
totem, cpu goes up to 60%.
I suppose it's related to intel video drivers.

Bug description:
Firefox keeps randomly freezing periodically for no apparent reason.
It can happen as often as every few minutes, or as infrequent as every
couple of hours. It also freezes often when the computer is started
again from being suspended. It usually comes good after some time, but
it's quite frustrating and makes it hard to get stuff done.
The closest step I can suggest for reproducing it is to suspend your
computer with Firefox open. That often causes the freezes.

Bug description:
Firefox8 was fine, no problems.
Since update to firefox9, I have important latency when:
- chosing another tab
- entering text into forms fields (like this one)
- scrolling page (even with smooth scrolling)
I tested with or without extensions, same issue.
The browser is usable but not very comfortable to use because this
latency.
Reverting to firefox7 solve the problem.

1. Generate a DB overview and open it with the following example command*:

2. Use SVG rather than PNG for the diagrams:

3. Go back to the browser window.
4. Left-click on the "Relationships" tab.

At this point, the browser freezes seemingly indefinitely (at least a
few minutes).
Workaround: If I *middle-click* on the image a new tab opens up
immediately without problems.
* I can't provide the DB for testing, it is unfortunately proprietary.
But the command is based on the above, simply with the port, database,
user and password exchanged.

download-manager: finished download doesn't end...

Bug description:
Sometimes the files which i downloaded, did not finish (they did
finish, but the downlad manger shows them not as finished) in the
download manager, even they where (in original file) written on HDD.
The downloads 'hang' still in the manager, there is no clue about the
problem an the files are downloaded completly, not scanned by anti-
virus or something else.
Closing and opening up the download manger by STRG+Shift+y shows the
files not even finished for an infinite time.
Can't explain the problem further... - a pic tells something more.

Firefox Screen Freeze in Full Screen mode

Bug description:
Ubuntu 12.04.
Firefox freezes when I enter full screen mode. By freeze, I *do not*
mean that it locks up. I can't think of another word to use. What
happens is that anything below the top bar becomes unreadable.
For example, after a period of time in full screen, if I were to go
and begin typing a web address, what usually would come down in a drop
menu of recent websites doesn't appear. Also, if I am scrolling down a
website, it doesn't register. This is the case until I put the mouse
at the top of the screen to bring down the top bar, and at this time
the new website will register on the screen.
Apologies if this doesn't make enough sense.

I have 2 monitors: the first (main) is on the _right_ and the second
is no the left. I used NVidia's TwinView to configure them. Many gnome
appliactions used to start on a wrong (the second which is no the
left) monitor. after I moved them they remembered the correct
location.
When NOT maximized Firefox also starts on a correct monitor, BUT! When
it starts maximized it is always on the left, no matter what.
