[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1909347] Re: Keyboard layout used in the second place breaks keymap
I have Ubuntu MATE on a VM and could reproduce your first issue there, i.e. it's present only when Neo 2 is not first in the list of keyboard layouts. Consequently this is probably an xkeyboard-config issue and not specific to gnome-control-center. And the issue is reasonably upstream in nature. I found this open upstream issue regarding Neo 2: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xkeyboard-config/xkeyboard- config/-/issues/14 Can't tell if it's related to your observations. If not I would recommend you to file a new issue upstream. If you do, please post a link to it here for tracking purposes. ** Bug watch added: gitlab.freedesktop.org/xkeyboard-config/xkeyboard-config/-/issues #14 https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xkeyboard-config/xkeyboard-config/-/issues/14 ** Package changed: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) => xkeyboard-config (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: xkeyboard-config (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: xkeyboard-config (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1909347 Title: Keyboard layout used in the second place breaks keymap Status in xkeyboard-config package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: It's hard to really summarize the issue here. I have selected gnome-control-center as the affected package, because this is, where it all starts. There are two issues, which are somehow connected. Reproduction steps (first issue): 1. Open your favorite text editor 4. Use Super+Alt+Backspace to change to the Neo2 layout 5. Press and hold the Mod4 key (right of Left Shift) and 3. 6. You get a 3, expected would be №. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1909347] Re: Keyboard layout used in the second place breaks keymap
Thanks for your report. German (Neo 2) is a very special keyboard layout, and when I add it to my list of input sources it breaks a few things on my other layouts, and as regards Neo 2 I don't have a clue how to make sense of it. Have you tried to use Neo 2 on other desktop environments but Ubuntu/GNOME? If you have, and see similar issues there, it's probably not related to gnome-control-center, and then you may want to report your findings upstream: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xkeyboard-config/xkeyboard- config/-/issues OTOH, if the unexpected behavior is only seen on Ubuntu/GNOME, this bug report is possibly a reasonable starting point. ** Project changed: gnome-control-center => gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1909347 Title: Keyboard layout used in the second place breaks keymap Status in gnome-control-center package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: It's hard to really summarize the issue here. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1909407] [NEW] Mistake in Alt-Tab operation
Public bug reported: I've uncovered what I think is a bug in the way that gnome-shell implements Alt-Tab support. First, my understanding is that the current version of Alt-Tab is only supposed to select between windows in the current virtual desktop. I accidentally uncovered this as follows. I moved a Firefox window (I have many open) from virtual desktop 2 to virtual desktop 1 using C-S-A-Up. Then, when I use Alt-Tab, I see 3 firefox windows as part of the 7 choices displayed. If I click on one of the other 2 firefox windows, it takes me down to virtual desktop 2. The window list for Alt-Tab in virtual desktop 2 doesn't include the firefox window in virtual desktop 1, so immediately doing Alt-Tab after the mistake doesn't reverse things. Original bug report === Hello The MSFT touchpad of this Lenovo Legion-5 15ARH05 laptop is not reacting at all (pointer and click never move when touchpad is touched). This has been reported by other users in various websites, with various linux systems including other Ubuntu systems, but I saw no launchpad bug so I post one. Example of websites covering the issue : - https://askubuntu.com/questions/1253830/lenovo-legion-5-touchpad (exactly the same laptop) - https://www.linux.org/threads/lenovo-legion-5-touchpad.29536/ (similar laptop) xinput indentifies it as MSFT0001:00 04F3:3140 Virtual core pointer id=2[master pointer (3)] ⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4[slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ MSFT0001:00 04F3:3140 Touchpad id=17 [slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ MSFT0001:00 04F3:3140 Mouse id=16 [slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ ITE Tech. It does not help, but I can confirm what was reported on askubuntu by another user : the touchpad does work on Windows.
