Previously I somehow managed to manually install libreoffice. I've been
using it for months now and want to keep using it. Recently within the
Spreadsheet app ("OpenOffice Calc"), it said that an update was
available. Tried to update within the app itself, but that failed so I
left it as-is at least for a week or more.
Today when I did a "sudo apt upgrade -y", that command is now erroring
out with unmet dependencies, something to do with libreoffice-core. I
haven't figured out what to do about it yet.

The same bug occurs in weston so that's some good news that it's not a mutter bug. The console output mentions GDK is unable to create a GL context and is falling back to glReadPixels. And that's exactly what the corruption looks like -- an incorrect stride or pixel format with glReadPixels. suppose should be the current output level. Instead, it shows input
level, just like the line in the "Input" section.
Clap your hands next to the microphone, and you will see both lines
moving.

So I cannot install "nautilus-dbgsym" and run gdb with the debug symbols to check where it crashes. After installing that dbgsym package, I still do not get a backtrace. It just exits with "[Inferior 1 (process 116937) exited with code 01]" so maybe it does not crash but the failed assertion makes it just quit? Also, there is nothing in "/var/crash" which is another indicator that the process just exits, but does not crash. I found the upstream issue at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/1303. I built firefox with the fix above in a PPA and ran the autopkgtests in the official infrastructure, and I can confirm that they now pass on armhf. I have the same problem on that kernel (ubuntu 20.10), and on the update to 5.8.0-50.55. I have gone back to 5.8.0-48.54 and it has stabilised. I get all sorts of different effects. Blocks of text being partially blank, whole menu boxes being blank, and so on. This usually happened after the system has been on for a few hours, so I initially suspected hardware, but reverting to 5.8.0-48 fixed it. The worst effected are browsers (Firefox, Chrome and Brave) possibly only when not full screen, but parts of the application icon toolbar and others parts flicker on and off as well. I tried wayland, but it was no better, so an x.org update may not help (I can't see one available at present) I'm using "Intel® HD Graphics 4600 (HSW GT2) graphics", on "Intel® Core™ i7-4770T CPU @ 2.50GHz × 8". No special drivers. While it is possible to downgrade chromium to a version that will run on a Pentium M processor, it's highly discouraged to run such an old version that has known security problems. It's unfortunate that upstream has decided to drop support for these processors, and unfortunately it's not something that we can easily undo, because they will make increasing use of SSE3 features. I'm changing the status to "Won't Fix" accordingly. This issue appears to be resolved for me. I used `apt purge gnome-shell-extensions` to remove gnome-shell- extensions and noticed that 'ubuntu-appindicat...@ubuntu.com', 'ubuntu- d...@ubuntu.com', and 'desktop-icons@csoriano' remained in /usr/share /gnome-shell/extensions/. I manually removed these extensions, reinstalled gnome-shell-extensions, and rebooted my machine, and I have not had a crash since. Note that I did not remove any extensions from .local/share/gnome-shell/extensions, although there is still a discrepancy between the installed extensions and what is listed in `gsettings get org.gnome.shell enabled-extensions` and `gsettings get org.gnome.shell disabled-extensions`. Should this be corrected by just using `gsettings set`, or should this be updated automatically? If there is any more information that I can provide to help troubleshoot this problem for others with this same problem, please let me know. To date, this is the only thing which I have found which is able to dump the contents of gnome-keyring: https://github.com/mnagel/gnome-keyring-dumper better than nothing, but not exactly what's requested. Bug description:
Previously I somehow managed to manually install libreoffice. I've
been using it for months now and want to keep using it. Recently
within the Spreadsheet app ("OpenOffice Calc"), it said that an update
was available. Tried to update within the app itself, but that failed
so I left it as-is at least for a week or more.
Today when I did a "sudo apt upgrade -y", that command is now erroring
out with unmet dependencies, something to do with libreoffice-core. I
haven't figured out what to do about it yet.

At the very minimum I would like to keep my system up-to-date with
making it so the "sudo apt upgrade -y" command doesn't error out.

Running iwlist scan manually fixes the problem almost immediately and network-manager starts showing the correct state (connecting, then connected to the right AP). So it happens not only to old presentations but to new ones as well. IDK - that test file actually crashed both 6.0.5 and 6.1 in my environment. Extracted the media files, the two .flv files work fine stand alone, but the .mpeg crashes the media player in my OS every time (not just in Impress). Speaking of which if I create a new Impress file and drop in one of the .flv files the new impress file works fine and the video plays fine. If I try to add the .mpeg file, using 6.0.5 than Impress hangs. Also, trying to check the properties of the Billy Elliot.mpeg file crashed gnome 'Files' twice. so, it is looking like the mpeg file is the culprit and the OS support changed.
