[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1940417]
All seems to work fine now! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to firefox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1940417 Title: On Wayland toolbar menus are sometimes invisible/flickering Status in Mozilla Firefox: Invalid Status in firefox package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:91.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/91.0 Steps to reproduce: Open Downloads panel, Library or Application menu form the Toolbar by clicking on the corresponding icons. Actual results: From version 90 I noticed that Library or other items in the Toolbar won't open when I click it. Instead it flickers a few times on mouse movement - it looks like it opens but it's not visible, it becomes visible a fraction of a second when I move the mouse otherwise it's completely transparent. Which Toolbar icon this affects seems random. I tried to fix it by resetting the Toolbar and disabling extensions which have icons in the Toolbar. Then I noticed that Library was working normal again but Downloads or Application Menu wouldn't open. When this happened with the Application Menu I could barely see the contents of the menu by moving the mouse which made the menu flicker. The cursor was able to select menu items in the menu but it was completely transparent. In the enclosed screenshot you can see I selected the Library menu item but it isn't opened. Expected results: The menus in the Toolbar should open like they used to. --- ProblemType: Bug AddonCompatCheckDisabled: False ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu65.1 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: jeroen 3189 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/pcmC0D3p: jeroen 3189 F...m pulseaudio BuildID: 20210804193234 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass Channel: Unavailable CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME DefaultProfileExtensions: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing DefaultProfileIncompatibleExtensions: Unavailable (corrupt or non-existant compatibility.ini or extensions.sqlite) DefaultProfileLocales: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing DefaultProfilePrefErrors: Unexpected character ',' before close parenthesis @ /usr/lib/firefox/omni.ja:greprefs.js:352 DefaultProfileThemes: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing DistroRelease: Ubuntu 21.04 ForcedLayersAccel: False InstallationDate: Installed on 2021-05-22 (87 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 21.04 "Hirsute Hippo" - Release amd64 (20210420) IpRoute: default via 192.168.0.1 dev enp3s0 proto dhcp metric 20100 10.0.0.243 dev wgpia0 scope link 10.17.128.1 dev wgpia0 scope link 169.254.0.0/16 dev enp3s0 scope link metric 1000 192.168.0.0/24 dev enp3s0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.0.102 metric 100 Package: firefox 91.0+build2-0ubuntu0.21.04.1 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.11.0-31.33-generic 5.11.22 Profile0Extensions: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing Profile0IncompatibleExtensions: Unavailable (corrupt or non-existant compatibility.ini or extensions.sqlite) Profile0Locales: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing Profile0PrefErrors: Unexpected character ',' before close parenthesis @ /usr/lib/firefox/omni.ja:greprefs.js:352 Profile0PrefSources: prefs.js Profile0Themes: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing Profiles: Profile1 (Default) - LastVersion=None/None (Out of date) Profile0 - LastVersion=91.0/20210804193234 (In use) RunningIncompatibleAddons: False Tags: wayland-session hirsute Uname: Linux 5.11.0-31-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin lxd plugdev sambashare sudo _MarkForUpload: True dmi.bios.date: 04/29/2014 dmi.bios.release: 4.6 dmi.bios.vendor: American Megatrends Inc. dmi.bios.version: 0602 dmi.board.asset.tag: To be filled by O.E.M. dmi.board.name: VM60 dmi.board.vendor: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. dmi.board.version: Rev 1.xx dmi.chassis.asset.tag: Asset-1234567890 dmi.chassis.type: 3 dmi.chassis.vendor: Chassis Manufacture dmi.chassis.version: Chassis Version dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAmericanMegatrendsInc.:bvr0602:bd04/29/2014:br4.6:svnASUSTeKComputerINC.:pnVM60:pvrSystemVersion:rvnASUSTeKCOMPUTERINC.:rnVM60:rvrRev1.xx:cvnChassisManufacture:ct3:cvrChassisVersion: dmi.product.family: To be filled by O.E.M. dmi.product.name: VM60 dmi.product.sku: SKU dmi.product.version: System Version dmi.sys.vendor: ASUSTeK Computer INC. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1956875] [NEW] [HDA-Intel - HD-Audio Generic, recording] Recording problem: Headset mic not detected
Public bug reported: In my laptop (Huawei MateBook 14 2020 AMD R5, Model KLVL-WFH9) there is a single 3.5mm jack port which allows audio input and output. I've got a headset with a single cable, sound can be heard very good, microphone is not detected. The disk runs Windows 10 in one partition and in the other one Ubuntu 20.04. I also had trouble with Windows in recognizing the headset's mic but now that has been solved. However, in Ubuntu it is only detected and "categorized" as Headphone. There is no way to use the microphone of the headset. I've tried to find some similar issues but nothing has helped me so far. *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1956401 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1956401 Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This particular bug has already been reported and is a duplicate of bug 1956401, so it is being marked as such. Please look at the other bug report to see if there is any missing information that you can provide, or to see if there is a workaround for the bug. Additionally, any further discussion regarding the bug should occur in the other report. Are you saying this is fixed via Gnome update? I've only seen the bug in Thunderbird -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1932328 Title: Thunderbird under Wayland does not correctly close (or manage) windows Status in GNOME Shell: Unknown Status in Mozilla Thunderbird: New Status in gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in mutter package in Ubuntu: Fix Committed Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Using Ubuntu 21.04 (Hirsute) that starts in Wayland, by default. Thunderbird version: 78.11.0 with "gnome-support" package. Same problem in safe mode. Description: By default in this context, TB is a Wayland task. When opening a compose windows (or reply or transfer), sending mail apparently close the windows, but gnome shell continue to show multiple "points", as if multiple windows are still active. And after closing TB, it seems maintained in the same state, so it becomes impossible to relaunch it from the desk. But task manager of "looking glass" does not show it and it is possible to launch from terminal. Provisional solution: Modify .desktop file to launch with --display=:0 option, that force to use XWayland interface, as shown by xlsclients (for example). But it is actually a bug under Wayland context, that also badly interfer with many add-ons or extensions. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1955932] Re: ps5 controller no longer working
I've just set up a brand new PS5 controller (via Bluetooth) on Ubuntu 20.04 with kernel 5.11.0-44-generic and 'sudo evtest' seems to show it is working. It reports events for almost all the buttons. Re-reading your bug report I think you have a problem specific to Steam. The errors you mention from Xorg (gdm-x-session[1946]: (II) ...) are probably not relevant and should be ignored. ** Changed in: linux-hwe-5.11 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1955932 Title: ps5 controller no longer working Status in linux-hwe-5.11 package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Hello! [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1938998] Re: [vmwgfx] Update to mesa and xorg-server causes Cinnamon desktop to not render properly
Since this was update-related and 5 months ago we should ask: Is the problem still present? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1938998 Title: [vmwgfx] Update to mesa and xorg-server causes Cinnamon desktop to not render properly Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in mesa package in Ubuntu: New Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: On a VMWare Workstation VM running Linux Mint 20.1 (64-bit) with Cinnamon 4.8.6 or Linux Mint 20.2 (64-bit) with Cinnamon 5.0.5, upgrading to a specific mesa and xorg-server version, followed by a system restart, led to the Cinnamon desktop not rendering correctly, such that the desktop was unusable. The rendering problem is that icons and menus are displayed as grey rectangles and it's not possible to see what they are. I believe the problem is in one of these packages: * mesa 21.0.3-0ubuntu0.2-20.04.1 * xorg-server 2:1.20.11-1ubuntu1-20.04.2 Restoring the system from backup, and then upgrading but omitting the above two updates and restarting, the system behaves as expected. It's not immediately clear which of these packages is causing the problem. --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.18 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: vinay 1218 F pulseaudio CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: X-Cinnamon DistroRelease: Linux Mint 20.1 InstallationDate: Installed on 2021-01-30 (187 days ago) InstallationMedia: Linux Mint 20.1 "Ulyssa" - Release amd64 20210103 IwConfig: lono wireless extensions. ens33 no wireless extensions. tailscale0 no wireless extensions.
