Title:
  printer prints mirrored pages

Status in hplip package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
After update to Ubuntu 23.04 (Lunar), my HP Color Laserjet CP1515n prints all
pages mirrored.
the problem gets even stranger when I select the "print mirrored" option in
the printing dialog: Then, the first, third, fifth … pages get printed
correctly, but the second, fourth, sixth … pages are *still* mirrored.

The problem appeared in Lunar (hplip 3.22.10+dfsg0-1) and was not
  present in Kinetic (hplip 3.22.6+dfsg0-1).

Purging wslu restores expected behaviour for desktop icons.

It's not gnome-ubuntu specific, as the problem also occurs in Kubuntu

But how / why wslu gets installed at first ?

  File selector extremely slow

Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
When you try to upload/download a file in an application (e.g.
Firefox, Signal, etc) the file selector that opens is extremely slow
to appear, search and change directory.

Often times, if I try to search for a file in it, I have to wait 10 or
more second before the letters I typed appear, and most of the time
the last letter I pressed when typing, will appear before the rest of
what I wrote, meaning I have to wait for my query to be deleted before
  I re-type it again.

This has only just started since upgrading to Ubuntu 23.04. I noticed
that Nautilus has been faster in general since the update, but in the
file selector specifically, it's become unusable.

Live ISO). I can't reproduce it on Ubuntu standard, so it seems to affect
Kubuntu only

I have a PC that is connected to the HDMI screen and to the earphones
via audio jack. So I have 2 outputs: HDMI + Earphones.

  1) Put the audio output to HDMI
  2) Play an mp3 file for few seconds to check everything works
  3) Open an audio file in Audacity
  4) Play the audio file in Audacity
  5) While playing, change the audio output to earphones.

I attach the output of journalctl if it can be useful

nautilus sometimes gets stuck when opening a folder and never shows
  the files inside

Status in Nautilus:
  New
Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Observed behaviour: open a directory (in my case, containing 20
photos, ~200 MB in total). Nautilus shows activity (the "Loading..."
indicator is active and animated), but it just stays that way
indefinitely (2-3 minutes now), without showing the files.

Expected behaviour: Effectively immediately show the contents of a
  directory with ~20 files.

Repeatability: infrequently, maybe 5% of the time

Workarounds: go to the parent dir, come back to the subdirectory in
question and its contents show up immediately, without issues.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 2004554] Re: Dock shows wrong indicator dots (eventually) when "Include applications from the current workspace only" is enabled

2023-05-07 Thread Luke Henderson
For me, the bug (assuming it's the same one) manifests itself as an
incorrectly placed dot on a primary workspace. After I have used the
"Show Applications" menu to move a "favorite" app to another workspace,
I click back to the primary workspace. Even though the app is not on
this primary workspace, the indicator dot remains. Toggling between the
two workspaces resolves the issue and the dot goes away while I'm
looking at the primary workspace.

I have these extensions enabled:
d...@rastersoft.com
ubuntu-appindicat...@ubuntu.com
ubuntu-d...@ubuntu.com

Note that this problem does not exist for apps that are on the other
side of the separator, along with the recycle bin. I have firefox,
files, and terminal pinned using "favorite". This would explain why the
initial comment mentions "files" as it's probably pinned.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 2013216] Re: Single click on title bar does not transfer focus to target window (server side decorations in Xorg sessions)

Title:
Single click on title bar does not transfer focus to target window

Status in Mutter:
  Fix Released
Status in mutter package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
Single clicking the title bar of windows without a complex title bar
(namely a title bar with additional buttons besides the
close/maximinze/minimize) does not transfer focus to them.

  Reproduction recipe:

  1. Open gnome-terminal.
  2. Run xedit.
  3. Focus gnome-terminal.
  4. Click Xedit's title bar.

  Expected: Xedit has focus.
  Observed: gnome-terminal retains focus.
  .
  5. Focus Xedit.
  6. Click gnome-terminal's title bar.

Expected and observed: Xedit relinquishes focus and gnome-terminal
  gets focus.

I can reproduce this in my main, up to date Lunar system in Xorg and
also in a virtual machine with the 2023-03-24 09:02 iso
  (https://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/lunar-desktop-

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 2015674] Re: Unread mail notifications do not update

2023-05-07 Thread localhost
Having the same issue I do want to add that I wonder if this is actually
a Thunderbird issue or perhaps a Ubuntu one. I'm seeing the same
behavior on another app as well since upgrading to 23.04. In my case the
electron based chat client Ferdium.

Title:
Unread mail notifications do not update

Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The Thunderbird icon on the dock shows the count of new mails
correctly, but the icon does not update itself once the emails have
been read. Even restarting the app will not update the icon.

I would expect the notification icon to show zero (new emails) once
  the mails have been read.
