[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1576977] Re: Lots of GEGL-gegl-operation.c-WARNING on starting gimp
I tested with upstream source of gimp-2.8.18.tar.bz2 [https://download.gimp.org/mirror/pub/gimp/v2.8/]. It is specifically compiled against gegl-0.2. Ubuntu 16.04 has gegl-0.3 (and not gegl-0.2). Debian and Ubuntu both use bump_Babl-GEGL_versions.patch: -PKG_CHECK_MODULES(GEGL, gegl-0.2 >= gegl_required_version) +PKG_CHECK_MODULES(GEGL, gegl-0.3 >= gegl_required_version) I made this modification and compiled upstream gimp-2.8.18.tar.bz2. And encountered same startup warnings. --- I installed gegl-0.2 (runtime+devel) from Ubuntu-14.04 (It needs also these old packages: libopenexr6 libilmbase6 libumfpack5.6.2 libamd2.3.1 libcholmod2.1.2 libcamd2.3.1 libccolamd2.8.0 libcolamd2.8.0). Then I compiled Ubuntu-16.04's version of gimp, gimp-2.8.16-1ubuntu1 against gegl-0.2 (dropping gegl-part of bump_Babl-GEGL_versions.patch and tuning debian/control). Now this gimp does NOT have these warnings. So the base reason for these gegl-warnings seems to be too new gegl. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1073669] Re: Bluetooth won't stay disabled after reboot due to early upstart job
Happens with 16.04. Goal: start ubuntu without bluetooth a) /etc/bluetooth/main.conf +InitiallyPowered = false Didn't work. b) rfkill-restore.conf from this ticket Didn't work. c) /etc/rc.local +rfkill block bluetooth Didn't work. Finally disabled bluetooth from BIOS. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to rfkill in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1073669 Title: Bluetooth won't stay disabled after reboot due to early upstart job Status in rfkill package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Using a Dell XPS 13 with Ubuntu 12.04. In order to restore RF interfaces to their previous state between boots, rfkill is run via two Upstart jobs in /etc/init/: rfkill- store.conf (run while shutting down) and rfkill-restore.conf (run when starting up). However, while rfkill-restore.conf starts on the Upstart local-filesystems signal, there is a high probability that the RF kill switches in /sys/class/rfkill/ still won't yet be populated (i.e. every time on the Dell XPS 13). This results in behavior like the following: 1. Disable bluetooth via applet. 2. Reboot. 3. Login. 4. Observe bluetooth is re-enabled! Bluetooth should have stayed disabled, but since the kill switches weren't present when rfkill-restore was run, the kill switch states were not restored. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1313275] Re: relogin fails with black screen, Xorg high load
This happens me too. Always reproducible, steps: a) start computer b) verify that Xorg is using some 0.7% CPU c) lock the screen d) login back - Xorg uses 97 ... 105% CPU Wait over ten minutes and it will not cool down. ('sudo killall Xorg' helps) - Step c) could be suspend/hibernate too, because they implies screen locking. - Also changing to the tty (i.e. ctrl-alt-f1) triggers xorg to use ~100% CPU. Virtualbox mentioned earlier: I have virtualbox installed, but not running ('lsmod | grep vbox' gives hits). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1313275 Title: relogin fails with black screen, Xorg high load Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Using a desktop with two users, it often hangs switching from one to another. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1037085] Re: 'disable-touchpad'-hardware-key is not enabling touchpad again
I found another way to disable/enable touchpad from commandline: gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.peripherals.touchpad touchpad-enabled false gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.peripherals.touchpad touchpad-enabled true This is working. But after touchpad breaks with hardware-button this will not bring it back. * After playing with gnome-settings-daemon (gsd): gsd-media-keys-manager is handling three different touchpadkey-events: { TOUCHPAD_KEY, NULL, XF86TouchpadToggle }, { TOUCHPAD_ON_KEY, NULL, XF86TouchpadOn }, { TOUCHPAD_OFF_KEY, NULL, XF86TouchpadOff }, Where first (TOUCHPAD_KEY) is only which is really doing something about settings, two latters are only about showing info on screen. And this laptop is only sending these ON/OFF events. I then commented out everything relating touchpad - Bug still triggers: Hardware-button disables touchpad, but doesn't enable it back (this time there are no visual icon on screen). * What another process/application is handling media keys? (acpi_listen is not showing it) ** Package changed: linux (Ubuntu) = gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1037085 Title: 'disable-touchpad'-hardware-key is not enabling touchpad again Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Laptop has hardware button for disabling touchpad.
