[Desktop-packages] [Bug 124406] Re: Keyboard keys get stuck and repeat
I have a lead may be Given scenario I have my keyboard stuck (i.e. I can't do andything with my keyboard) I suspend my laptop using mouse and voilà my keyboard is working again Hope this helps!!! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/124406 Title: Keyboard keys get stuck and repeat Status in GNU Emacs: Invalid Status in The Linux Kernel: Confirmed Status in X.Org X server: In Progress Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Status in linux source package in Jaunty: Won't Fix Status in xorg-server source package in Jaunty: Invalid Status in Gentoo Linux: New Bug description: Keyboard keys such as the arrows, Alt-F4, PageUp/PageDown, etc. often get 'stuck' and continue being 'clicked' even after they are physically released. For example when clicking Alt-F4, sometimes it gets stuck so all the windows are closed instead of just one. My configuration is Feisty + Xgl + Compiz Fusion. My previous configuration was Edgy + Xgl + Beryl, where this didn't happen. Others have reported the same problem without using either Xgl or Compiz. The keyboard itself isn't the problem. When dual-booting to Windows, everything works fine. Also, the problem happens with two different keyboards (internal laptop, external USB). My best guess is that the problem occurs at time of high system load. Somehow during these times the key-release signal gets lost and the key-press is repeated indefinitely. This happens more often with Compiz configurations because Compiz tends to increase system load. It also happens more often with power-hungry apps like Firefox and Acrobat Reader for similar reasons. PS: When the keys would repeat all input devices would be locked up. ie. mouse won't move, clicks don't do anything, keyboard presses don't register. Then when it becomes unstuck, the mouse moves around and everything. Hope this helps. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 792085] Re: Automatic remount of safely removed drive
This bug has bugged me since ubuntu 11.04 (when I started using Ubuntu) till 14.04 (even though LTS still has this problem) and still there is no one that solves the problem. As of today I have installed all the update of and using Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS When I safely remove my external HDD in a 3.0 USB port it turns off for a second and then restarts and is mounted again. The same does not happen when I plug my HDD to a 2.0 USB port. As I have mentioned above, I have lost valuable data because of this bug, please fix it. This is very awful I don't know why this bug is labelled expired I have been having this problem ever since I have started using ubuntu i.e from the release of 10.10 to 14.04 and there is still no change in the errors status I recently installed Ubuntu 14.04 and installed the startup packages like restricted-extras fglrx fglrx-pxpress gimp vlc and added some well know and some other ppas And just like every other time I started getting this Xorg error Sometimes my Ubuntu even opens in Low Graphics Mode I can however be fixed by restarting the system most of the time at other times I have to uninstall my amd drivers and never Install them again I am willing to do anything to fix this. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 792085] Re: Automatic remount of safely removed drive
This bug affects all the Ubuntu versions from 10.10 to 13.10 and also maybe 14.04 till now. How ever I had the problem in 13.04 and 13.10 only on usb 3.0 and not 2.0. Please solve the problem soon This bug should atleast be of medium importance and please assign someone to it soon Ubuntu 13.10 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/792085 Title: Automatic remount of safely removed drive Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “udev” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Binary package hint: nautilus When I choose Safely remove drive context menu entry for an external USB drive within a nautilus window or directly clicking on the desktop icon, after about 10 seconds the drive is automatically remounted and a Nautilus window showing the root folder opens. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1239087] Re: Safely remove is not working (or broken) in Gnome Disks
For me the command “udisks --detach /dev/sdX” detaches the device for a second and the device is then redetected and mounted again always How ever the command “sg_start --stop /dev/sdX” does the same in the first try and actually detached and turned off my hdd in the first try but after that I've been getting the same results as above I performed these tests with my Seagate Backup Plus Drive on Ubuntu 13.10 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-disk-utility in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1239087 Title: Safely remove is not working (or broken) in Gnome Disks Status in GNOME Disks: Fix Released Status in abstraction for enumerating and managing block devices: Confirmed Status in “gnome-disk-utility” package in Ubuntu: New Status in “gnome-disk-utility” package in Fedora: Unknown Status in “gnome-disk-utility” package in openSUSE: Confirmed Bug description: In 12.04 I was able to safely remove USB-stick (make its LED off) and USB-HDD (do a spin down). [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1239087] Re: Safely remove is not working (or broken) in Gnome Disks
Viola, it actually worked this time My steps on the same configuration were: 1.sg_start --start /dev/sdX 2.sg_start --stop /dev/sdX And my drive i.e Seagate Backup Plus Drive was powered down for about 1 minute or so then I don't know why or how it restarted Ubuntu 13.10 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-disk-utility in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1239087 Title: Safely remove is not working (or broken) in Gnome Disks Status in GNOME Disks: Fix Released Status in abstraction for enumerating and managing block devices: Confirmed Status in “gnome-disk-utility” package in Ubuntu: New Status in “gnome-disk-utility” package in Fedora: Unknown Status in “gnome-disk-utility” package in openSUSE: Confirmed Bug description: In 12.04 I was able to safely remove USB-stick (make its LED off) and USB-HDD (do a spin down).
