Yeap, it builds fine on my machine: $ sudo dkms build -m nvidia-331 -v 331.113 -k 3.13.0-53-generic Kernel preparation unnecessary for this kernel. Skipping... Building module: cleaning build area make KERNELRELEASE=3.13.0-53-generic module KERNDIR=/lib/modules/3.13.0-53-generic IGNORE_XEN_PRESENCE=1 IGNORE_CC_MISMATCH=1 SYSSRC=/lib/modules/3.13.0-53-generic/build LD=/usr/bin/ld.bfd. cleaning build area DKMS: build completed. And btw, I guess I made a stupid mistake for which I do apologize - chose wrong LP bug report. My original issue was related to the fact that nvidia 331.113-0ubuntu0.0.4 fails to build against the upcoming (already present in -proposed) linux-image-generic-lts-vivid kernel, which is 3.19.
