2012-10-26 Thread Alex Launi
As best I can tell without being able to reproduce the bug and get a
better trace, this is being caused by a bad cast. I've added a series of
checks to ensure we don't try and access members of a null pointer.

Bug description:
Firefox contains its own copy of sqlite which is updated in regular
updates. Currently, libunity-webapps links against the system
libsqlite causing 2 copies of it to be mapped in to memory at the same
time. This results in symbol collisions and probably only currently
works because the wind is blowing in the right direction. As the copy
of sqlite shipped with Firefox changes in regular updates, this is
likely to go wrong at some point in a future update.

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1037646 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1037646

it's a different missing schema that is causing the crash here. i dont
think this is related to the u1 client.

Banshee window isn't raised when clicking on it in the sound menu

Status in “banshee” package in Ubuntu:
  New
Status in “compiz” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  1) Start banshee. Leave the window open
  2) Open another application e.g. gnome-terminal or firefox.
  3) Click on sound menu (volume icon in the top panel). Click on banshee.

Normally (when the banshee window is closed, but still playing), you'd
see the banshee window appear. As a new window, it would appear in
  front of the other application.

But in this case, the Banshee window is already open. Instead of
being raised to the front, as I'd expect, the Unity sidebar pops up,
with the Banshee icon jiggling about.

I know very roughly why this happens. The Banshee window _is_
demanding attention. But it's clearly doing the wrong thing. There's
no reason why the user should have to click on the jiggling banshee
icon - they've already said that they want to see the Banshee window!

I don't think Unity needs a new API for this. I don't have this
problem with the integration of Thunderbird and the Mail application
  notifier.

Compiz Window Decorator fails on Evolution Compose New Email

Status in “compiz” package in Ubuntu:
  New
Status in “evolution” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Oneiric Beta 2:

  How to reproduce:

1 - If you new emails default to maximised, open a new window and the
window will be greater than the unity panel and launcher with no
window decoration (see maximised.png). [The only way to close this is
with Escape, resizing or unmaximising buttons / keys don't work, Alt-
Tab doesn't control it properly either]

2 - If there are decorations initially on the maximised window, un-
maximising the window creates a window with no decorations (see
  unmax.png)

Expected results: Compose window has full decoration just like in
  Unity-2d or Metacity (see metacity.png)

play it and I see no change in Banshee. If I add a second song or
album, the content gets added also successfully but then the focus
changes to the queue as it should.

  To reproduce:

   * Click on a song or album in the Music Lens.

see no change other than the number being added to the play queue. Focus does
not change to the play queue.

  Confirmed

Bug description:
If I click on a song or album in the Music Lens it successfully gets
added to the Banshee filesystem play queue but the focus inside
Banshee does not switch to the queue - thus it looks like I want to
play it and I see no change in Banshee. If I add a second song or
album, the content gets added also successfully but then the focus
changes to the queue as it should.

  To reproduce:

   * Click on a song or album in the Music Lens.
   * Look at Banshee - if you were not focused on the filesystem play queue you
see no change other than the number being added to the play queue. Focus does
not change to the play queue.
   * Add a second song or album and the focus does change.
