[Desktop-packages] [Bug 841712] Re: Doesn't install language-packs

2011-09-27 Thread Alexander Hunziker
Gunnar, I can confirm that the version from your PPA works. I see the UI
is simplified so that input methods, translations and spell checking
cannot be selected individually anymore. That confused me a bit at
first, because I'm used to the old way, but in the interest of a UI
which is easy to understand I think that's actually beneficial.

  functionality is not working properly.

  * Scrolling with a two-finger gesture works, but there is a lag each
time before scrolling actually starts, i.e. one starts the gesture,
and only half a second or a second later the scrolling starts on the
screen. This happens with both my internal touchpad, as well as the
  external Apple bluetooth trackpad.

  * Rotating works, however the zoom level changes in an unpredictable
way. In fact, after repeated rotating, my document is as small as a

  * Zooming gestures are recognised, but the screen is not redrawn. Only
after clicking and scrolling in the UI, the document is shown at the

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 847936] Re: Scrolling is not smooth and continuous when using vertical scrollbars by clicking and dragging in Gwibber

2011-09-13 Thread Alexander Hunziker
I second this. Currently, gwibber 3.1.x is scrolling tile-wise, which is
extremely unintuitive and annoying. This is mostly because a) tiles
don't have equal height and b) the window content jumps by big amounts,
as tiles might be high.

It started backing up and the process took a lng time. In fact,

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 843776] [NEW] Backup fails with error message

2011-09-07 Thread Alexander Hunziker
Public bug reported:

This is my first try with dejadup, I'm not sure what exactly went wrong,
but hereafter all the information I have.

I set up dejadup to backup just my ~/Documents folder (250MB) to
UbuntuOne.

It started backing up and the process took a lng time. In fact,
watching in gnome-system-monitor showed that during that time my system
uploaded a multiple of 250MB.

On U1 the web-UI, I saw files of size 25MB pop up, but then they
disappeared again, and there was never more than one.

The tool iftop showed me that there was a big upstream data flow to an
Amazon server? WTF? I was backing up to U1.

Finally, Dejadup failed, with the following error message:

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 841712] [NEW] Doesn't install language-packs

2011-09-05 Thread Alexander Hunziker
Public bug reported:

When I try to install additional spelling dictionaries, language-packs
