[Desktop-packages] [Bug 803593]
*** Bug 1269216 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to thunderbird in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/803593 Title: "Grouped by Sort" view is not saved in Unified Folders Status in One Hundred Papercuts: Fix Released Status in Mozilla Thunderbird: Fix Released Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Hi, Sorting the email "By Sort" (i.e. by some date) does not work properly with the Unified Inbox folder. When I do: - Go to Unified/Inbox, set View->Sort By->Grouped By Sort. - Expand all by Ctrl-A - Navigate to another folder - Go back to the Unified Inbox At the last step, TB should remember that all the 'threads' had been expanded. Instead, they're all collapsed, which is inconsistent with the way it works with all other individual folders. IMHO, this makes this option unusable, as I have to expand the thread *every time*. This problem occurs in all Unified Folders. Individual account folders work as expected, i.e., they remember whether the thread was collapsed or not. Thanks. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 803593]
For anyone who comes here, note that the steps in comment 30 and comment 32 are completely unnecessary. Starting with Tb45, collapse all and expand all in Group By view work exactly as in Threaded view. The state is immediately persisted and remembered across folder exit/return and restart. Also note: if the last action is expand all, and then all individual threads are collapsed, the state is still in expand all (for persistence); likewise with collapse all. There is no individual thread state persistence. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to thunderbird in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/803593 Title: "Grouped by Sort" view is not saved in Unified Folders Status in One Hundred Papercuts: Fix Released Status in Mozilla Thunderbird: Fix Released Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Hi, Sorting the email "By Sort" (i.e. by some date) does not work properly with the Unified Inbox folder. If you ctrl-click to deselect a message, then context menu delete either that message or another message, a message will be selected, on 78 and linux, for me. Clearly the best way is to ctrl-click deselect permanently, but the incomprehensible and unusable feedback here has resulted in it being accomplished another way. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to thunderbird in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1653351 Title: Have option to not automatically open next email Status in Mozilla Thunderbird: Confirmed Status in Ubuntu GNOME: Confirmed Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: I have found that with Thunderbird if I open an email and then press a button such as the "Junk" or "Delete" button, it will automatically move on and open the next email. Now as I get a lot of spam on this email in the inbox with the spam filter not properly configured yet, it would be very useful if there were an option to disable this automatically opening the next email feature. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 397574]
(In reply to Alfred Peters III from comment #42) > (In reply to alta88 from comment #41) > > Is there a reason not to do it that way? everyone should use the extension, how is Tb usable without wide thread view ;) which was attempted and abandoned in bug 215661. back to the issue: although the setTimeout on ReloadMessage() works, it's not the best way and not how i do it any longer in the extension. the document in messagepane is not destroyed and therefore does not need to be reloaded/reread. if you install the extension in Tb52 you will note how smooth and jank free the layout changes are. to do this correctly here, try this in place of the ReloadMessage() line and make sure to test both single and multimessage (conversations): // For some layout changes, the doc in messagepane or multimessage is // not destroyed, so don't create it again. let browser = getBrowser(); if (browser && browser.contentDocument && browser.contentDocument.URL == "about:blank") { if (!gMessageDisplay.singleMessageDisplay) gSummaryFrameManager.pendingOrLoadedUrl = "about:blank"; gMessageDisplay.makeInactive(); setTimeout(() => {gFolderDisplay.makeActive();}); } -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to thunderbird in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/397574 Title: Encoding problems after switching the layout Status in Mozilla Thunderbird: Fix Released Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Binary package hint: thunderbird steps to reproduce: - View -> Layout -> Classic View - View -> Layout -> enable Message Pane - select a message in which you can see special characters (e.g. ö,ä,ü...) - switch the layout, e.g. View -> Layout -> Wide View now you can see, that the special characters are displayed wrong (e.g. ö instead of ö) If you select another mail and select this mail again, the characters are displayed without problems! in the course of updating MoreLayouts, this (and some other layout bugs) has been fixed there: http://morelayoutsforthunderbird.mozdev.org/ the solution is quite simple; a 0 setTimeout on the reloadMessage() call in updateMailPaneConfig will do it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to thunderbird in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/397574 Title: Encoding problems after switching the layout Status in Mozilla Thunderbird: Fix Released Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Binary package hint: thunderbird steps to reproduce: - View -> Layout -> Classic View - View -> Layout -> enable Message Pane - select a message in which you can see special characters (e.g. ö,ä,ü...) - switch the layout, e.g. View -> Layout -> Wide View now you can see, that the special characters are displayed wrong (e.g. ö instead of ö) If you select another mail and select this mail again, the characters are displayed without problems!
