[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1010402] Re: Problem opening UNICODE file
Files encoded UNICODE are identified by gedit as 'RawText' files. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1010402] Re: Problem opening RawText file
The whole point is that this file (resource file generated by Visual C++) does not appear to contain any invalid character. After opening file test.rc with Windows' Notepad and removing 'END' at line 387, then saving file, gedit can open file without any problem. After re-adding 'END' at line 387 (using gedit or Notepad) and saving file, gedit can no longer open file. That is what is really weird about it. ** Attachment added: Capture du 2012-06-09 06:10:51.png https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gedit/+bug/1010402/+attachment/3182045/+files/Capture%20du%202012-06-09%2006%3A10%3A51.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gedit in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1010402 Title: Problem opening RawText file Status in “gedit” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Release: 12.04 apt-cache policy gedit gedit: Installé : 3.4.1-0ubuntu1 Candidat : 3.4.1-0ubuntu1 Table de version : *** 3.4.1-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status What you expected to happen gedit to open file What happened instead gedit has problem opening attached RawText file test.rc generated by Windows 7; edit displays: There was a problem opening the file /mnt/hgfs/vmware/test/test.rc. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 982785] Re: right-click on file/folder name does not work most of the time
Nautilus is configured to show file/folder lists with details. As such, the tollowing columns are displayed: Name, Size, Type, Date. Right-clicking on a file/folder under colum 'Name' is supposed to highlight selected line and display menu items 'Open' ... 'Properties' but it displays 'Create Folder'... 'Properties' as if I right-clicked on an empty area. Right-clicking under any other colums (Size, Type, Date) works ok. Note: I ran an update just before answering this to take a screen shot of the problem... but today's updates appear to have fixed this problem. I guess you can close this one. Should it re-appear, I will report again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/982785 Title: right-click on file/folder name does not work most of the time Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: In Nautilus, when right-clicking on file/folder NAME, wrong menu is displayed MOST of the time.
