related to attempts describe I decided to start with 'clean account'.
(and created the new bug entry)

  Clean account means:
  1) Remove hplip*, foo2zjs, footomatic package.
  2) Remove any further files related to hp1018
  find /usr/share -name *1018*
  ./foo2zjs/firmware/sihp1018.img

  3) Remove orphaned /usr/share/hplip directory

After restarting the printer a system message appear pointing that new
hardware had been installed and suggesting that hpijs package support the HP
1018 printer.
  I:
  - installed hpijs with depends
  - Ran Printer configure tool: a driver for HP 1018 hadn't been found
  - so I chose suggested HP 1015 driver
  - printer didn't react for send packages.

So, as we see, this combination generates XF86Suspend code, and it is

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1171848] [NEW] No possibility to operate Ambient Light Sensor on Latitude D830 because of kernel handles Fn-combination instead of BIOS

2013-04-23 Thread BakLAN
Public bug reported:

According to Dell Latitude D830 manual, Fn and left-arrow key should
activate the ambient light sensor, which controls brightness of the
display based on light level in the current environment. I've checked it
in WinPE and in GRUB - it works well. But in user account in my Kubuntu
13.04 Fn and left-arrow key returns:

(XEV output)

KeyPress event, serial 40, synthetic NO, window 0x401,
root 0x103, subw 0x0, time 4948865, (162,-13), root:(164,45),
state 0x0, keycode 201 (keysym 0x1008ffb1, XF86TouchpadOff), same_screen YES,
XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes:
XFilterEvent returns: False

So, as we see, this is mistake and it should not return any code because
it processes through BIOS and must switch on/of ambient light sensor to
operate correctly according to laptop manual.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1116235] [NEW] Unable to change volume level moving the kmix slider

2013-02-05 Thread BakLAN
Public bug reported:

Just moved one HDD from old machine to another and discovered an issue
with volume level changing with kmix (Integrated Audio Analog Stereo).
The thing is that moving the kmix slider makes nothing. The sound is
working but to change the volume level I must open kmix, switch to
Playback Streams and change the volume there, in alsamixer. Changing the
volume level in Playback Devices does nothing: slider moves but volume
doesn't changes. If I move slider to the lowest position the sound is
muting but between the lowest an the highest position it doesn't changes
the volume higher or lower.

Of course in Select master channel the motherboard integrated audio
device is chosen. And on old machine, with other audio device on other
motherboard there was no problem with volume changing.

Unable to change volume level moving the kmix slider

Status in “pulseaudio” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Just moved one HDD from old machine to another and discovered an issue
with volume level changing with kmix (Integrated Audio Analog Stereo).
The thing is that moving the kmix slider makes nothing. The sound is
working but to change the volume level I must open kmix, switch to
Playback Streams and change the volume there, in alsamixer. Changing
the volume level in Playback Devices does nothing: slider moves but
volume doesn't changes. If I move slider to the lowest position the
sound is muting but between the lowest an the highest position it
doesn't changes the volume higher or lower.

Of course in Select master channel the motherboard integrated audio
device is chosen. And on old machine, with other audio device on other
motherboard there was no problem with volume changing.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1116235] Re: Unable to change volume level moving the kmix slider

2013-02-05 Thread BakLAN
Recently checked with kernel 3.8 RC6. Nothing's changed. Also in
Playback Streams tab the Event Sounds slider doesn't moves at all or can
be moved a little only at first try.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1065125] [NEW] After last MESA upgrade I'm expiriencing video-artefacts on my ATI RV630 [Radeon HD 2600XT]

2012-10-10 Thread BakLAN
Public bug reported:

After last MESA upgrade, yesterday, I'm expiriencing video-artefacts on
my ATI RV630 [Radeon HD 2600XT]: when I push Start button menu
displays partially, when I'm moving any window on desktop a lot of
artefacts appears. All that bad things happens only when I'm using
kwin_gles, when I'm switching to kwin - all is right, without any
artifacts.

In attached file you can see kwin_gles starting output with suspicious
