Title:
after resume the "Disconnected - you are now offline" notification
  doesn't disappear

Status in “network-manager-applet” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in “xfce4-notifyd” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Observed behaviour:
When I resume from standby, the "Disconnected - you are now offline"
notification (which probably appeared when standby was started) stays on the
screen and doesn't go away until I close it manually.
Network (LAN - eth0) works, so in fact I'm online and the notification is
false.
Notifications are set to disappear after 4 seconds, which they do, except
this naughty one.

  Expected behaviour:
The "Disconnected - you are now offline" notification should not appear or
disappear after the selected amount of time.
The best thing would be to display a "Connected - you are now online"
notification.

  used version:
  0.2.1-1 on Xubuntu Natty
  (all updates up to date)

I didn't mention yet, not having a language chooser makes trouble-
shooting and reporting bugs harder, as you don't know what's the
message/menu/button/whatever in english.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 965921] Re: gnome-shell most keyboard shortcuts not working

2012-03-31 Thread Bazon
Yes, there are two workarounds:

1. If you know the matching command line, just make your own shortcut with the
keyboard shortcut GUI. I made that for CTRL-Alt-T and gnome-terminal.
2. If you don't know the matching command line (e.g. for "show activities"),
you can use dconf-editor to set keybindings in org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings.

I only got one problem with that: what's the name in dconf for the right
super key? (one of my keyboards doesn't have a left super key.)

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1049028] Re: Unable to create gmail account

2012-10-01 Thread Bazon
$ grep evolution ~/.xsession-errors

(evolution-alarm-notify:2263): Gdk-WARNING **: evolution-alarm-notify: Fatal IO
error 11 (Die Ressource ist zur Zeit nicht verfügbar) on X server :0.

"Verbindung ist geschlossen" = "connection is closed"
"Die Ressource ist zur Zeit nicht verfügbar" = "the resource is not available
right now"
(I wish there still was a language selection in LightDM or GDM... :-( )

Thanks for informing about the possibility to uncheck the two checkboxes. I
tried to add the calender manually (I want the calender in the Gnome-Shell
top-panel!), evolution is showing that google calendar is opened in the
statusbar, but this statusbar-status never changes.
I did $ grep evolution ~/.xsession-errors in that state, after trying to add
the calendar manually.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1049028] Re: Unable to create gmail account

2012-10-01 Thread Bazon
It is possible to integrate Google Calendar and Contacts anyway:

For the calendar, add an "on the web" calendar and enter the ical-adress
of your Google calendar. If you have dates with e-mail-notification, you
get an endless series of warning popups saying evolution calendar
doesn't support e-mail notifications for dates, so you have to kill it
and the process "evolution-calendar-factory".

Google contacts can be integrated the normal way, so I suppose it's
really about Google calendar here.

For Ubuntu 12.04, System Settings (gnome-control-center and gnome-
settings-daemon) was patched to continue to support the gconf keyboard
shortcuts used by Unity, Unity 2D, and the GNOME Classic sessions.
Unfortunately, GNOME Shell now uses gsettings keyboard shortcuts so
GNOME Shell ignores keyboard shortcut changes that get entered into
  System Settings>Keyboard>Shortcuts.

This should be fixed for Ubuntu 12.10 but it's too late and
complicated to fix for Ubuntu 12.04.

  One Workaround
  ==
  Install dconf-tools
  Run dconf-editor
  Look in org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings or org.gnome.mutter.keybindings

  Another Workaround
  ==
Set a custom keyboard shortcut. This is useful if you want to set Ctrl+Alt+F
to open Firefox for instance. In System Settings, click Keyboard. Switch to the
Shortcuts tab and click Custom Shortcuts at the bottom of the list.

Click the + button and add a name to remember the shortcut and the
specific command you want to execute. Click Apply. Find the name in
the list and click the right half of the row. "Disabled" should change
to "New accelerator". Enter the keyboard shortcut you want to use.

Ctrl+Alt+T to open the terminal and several other usual shortcuts from
Unity have been added to GNOME Shell on April 17.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1173551] Re: Evolution crashes on opening

2013-04-27 Thread Bazon
Same here. In fact, I only need to open Evolution to add other Google-
Sub-Calendars, so they are displayed in my Gnome-Shell-Panel. So if
someone knows a workaround for adding other Google-Sub-Calendars
without using evolution, I would be happy about that.

I also tried that, but did not have success. Did you remove any other

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1037167] [NEW] Rhythmbox DAAP Server doesn't work with iTunes 9.2.1 for PPC as client

2012-08-15 Thread Bazon
Public bug reported:

Using Rhythmbox 2.96 as a DAAP server with iTunes 9.2.1 for PPC (on OSX 10.4)
doesn't work:
The share-name is shown in iTunes, but selecting it doesn't establish a
connection: no "mount" symbol, no display of shared song.
(using rhythmbox as a client works.)

It can't at least be only an iTunes problem, as Tangerine as a Server +
the exact same iTunes as a client works without any problems.

(And this particular version of iTunes is important, as it is the most
reason version for the Power PC (PPC) architecture on OSX 10.4.)

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1040436] [NEW] Privacy Tab: Items in blacklisted Ubuntu One picture upload folder appear although blacklisted

2012-08-22 Thread Bazon
Public bug reported:

This is about gnome-control-center activity-log-manager.
I file it here in gnome-control-center and not in activity-log-manager because
I didn't have the activity-log-manager standalone package installed.

What happens:
I have the Ubuntu One App for Android which automatically uploads my photos to
the default folder for that, ~/Pictures - GT-I9100 (for my device.)
As I don't want to appear that photos via zeitgeist, I blacklisted that folder
in gnome-control-center activity-log-manager. Anyway, uploaded photos appear
via zeitgeist, even before I opened them! the files being uploaded there is
enough. (e.g. viewable via gnome-activity-journal or just in the dash.)
Other blacklisted folders work as they should.

What should happen:
Also for Ubuntu One uploads to a folder like ~/Pictures - GT-I9100 blacklisting
in the privacy tab should work.

Title:
Privacy Tab: Items in blacklisted Ubuntu One picture upload folder
  appear although blacklisted

Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  This is about gnome-control-center activity-log-manager.
I file it here in gnome-control-center and not in activity-log-manager
because I didn't have the activity-log-manager standalone package installed.

  What happens:
I have the Ubuntu One App for Android which automatically uploads my photos
to the default folder for that, ~/Pictures - GT-I9100 (for my device.)
As I don't want to appear that photos via zeitgeist, I blacklisted that
folder in gnome-control-center activity-log-manager. Anyway, uploaded photos
appear via zeitgeist, even before I opened them! the files being uploaded there
is enough. (e.g. viewable via gnome-activity-journal or just in the dash.)
Other blacklisted folders work as they should.

  What should happen:
Also for Ubuntu One uploads to a folder like ~/Pictures - GT-I9100
blacklisting in the privacy tab should work.
