[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1579246] Re: [SRU]handle 802.1x on ethernet properly
I checked the package "network-manager 1.2.2" and all is working ok, thanks -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager-applet in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1579246 Title: [SRU]handle 802.1x on ethernet properly Status in Network Manager Applet: Fix Released Status in network-manager-applet package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in network-manager-applet source package in Xenial: Fix Committed Bug description: [Impact] nm-applet does not save passwords for 802.1X on Ethernet connections, thus users will need to input password every time when connecting to it. [Test case] Connect to an 802.1X enabled Ethernet port, choose save password when authentication. Disconnect the network and reconnect, users should not be prompted again for credentials. [Regression potential] The fix is a one liner that only deals with secrets handling of certain time, potential of regression is minimal. This particular entry is not internationalized and appears always in English (see attached screenshot). I can think of two ways of solving this: 1. Marking the strings for translation and providing a .pot file as part of the libreoffice package build, that can be imported into Launchpad for translators to do their work. Translations can then be shipped in the regular language packs. 2. Do a call for translations each cycle, similar to what we do already for the Firefox and Thunderbird desktop files, and manually put the received translations in the libreoffice desktop files. I'd suggest 1., as it's the most automated way and allows us to update translations independently from the libreoffice package.
