FWIW, I installed kernel 3.17 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/v3.17-utopic/ which seems to resolve this issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1406034 Title: XPS 15 9530, Realtek ALC3661, Black Headphone Out, Left Background noise Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: When listening with headphones or a headset, there's a constant background noise with a hiss i the left ear and 'electronic warbling' in the rigt ear. This may be a simple dup of #1252733, although my specific hardware is different. Specifically, the hda-verb invocations from comment 34 make the background noise go away: hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC1D0 0x0c SET_AMP_GAIN_MUTE 0x5180 hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC1D0 0x0c SET_AMP_GAIN_MUTE 0x6180 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1406034 Title: XPS 15 9530, Realtek ALC3661, Black Headphone Out, Left Background noise Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: When listening with headphones or a headset, there's a constant background noise with a hiss i the left ear and 'electronic warbling' in the rigt ear. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1239247] Re: intel (haswell) mouse cursor invisible after resume
At some point, I stopped seeing the problem on my laptop. I'm afraid I have no idea what package update (or other change) may have brought about the resolution in the interim. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1239247 Title: intel (haswell) mouse cursor invisible after resume Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Reporting for a different computer so I can't run xorg right now. Running Saucy as of 11 Oct 2013 (will get package versions shortly), a new Yoga 11s system with a haswell i5 processor and graphics.. everything works fine until the laptop is suspended and resumed. After resume, the mouse pointer is invisible. You can move the touchpad around and see things highlighting, so the mouse is actually there, its just not visible. Switching to a text console and back brings back the mouse cursor (ctrl-alt-f1 then ctrl-alt-f7). Is this a kernel problem or an xorg problem? Can it be worked around using swcursor? How does one set that nowadays in the post xorg.conf world?
