[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1935677] Re: Truncated image preview for a file created in real time on a USB storage

2021-07-20 Thread Dmitry Kuteynikov
I have reported the bug to the Gnome project, but they instantly closed
it with the following resolution:

"Unfortunately you are using a version that is too old and not supported
anymore by GNOME developers [...] Feel also free to report this in the
issue tracking system of your Linux distribution if your Linux
distribution still supports that version."

Title:
Truncated image preview for a file created in real time on a USB
  storage

Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I connected my Android smartphone via USB cable and opened it's
Screenshots folder with nautilus. Then I made a screenshot on the
phone. Nautilus detected a new image file and started to make a
preview for it. However, the data of the file wasn't yet fully written
to the disk, so the file manager got only part of the image and the
rest was painted in grey. This truncated preview didn't change after I
have refreshed the view. The file itself is 100% valid and can be

Should I report it to Gnome, or you will handle it?

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1922795] Re: Gnome panel got stuck

2021-04-07 Thread Dmitry Kuteynikov
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1917939 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1917939

Thanks! As I see, the original bug only mentions the window positioning
problems. In my case also mouse clicks are ignored by the panels.

  Gnome panel got stuck

Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I closed the lid of my laptop, then opened it and launched a browser
by clicking it's icon on the left panel. After that all the panels in
Gnome got stuck - clicking on the left or top panels gives nothing. I
still can access the global menu via the Win key, also hot corners
work. But the panels are not only frozen - they seem to be ignored by
the window manager, because when I open some app, it is placed under a
panel just like the panel did not exist at all.

These happened to me already twice.

  I have:
  Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS, kernel 5.8.0-48-generic
Gnome version 3.36.8, Windowing System X11
  HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cw1007nv
