   * Press mic mute key

  [Regression Potential]

   * Very low. This is very isolated code. All it does is add functionality. In
fact there
are very few deletions in the diffs.

   * There is an existing acpi solution, that's already been mentioned in this
bug. I'm
not sure how these users would be affected once the upgrade hits, but it
was never
 released as an official fix.

  [Original Report]

Pressing the new microphone mute button does not do anything. It
should toggle the mute on the current capture device and toggle an led
that is part of the button.

Title:
Incorrect icon in system tray when running VPN over mobile broadband

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
In Kubuntu 13.10, using a mobile broadband connection, connected using
Network Manager as normal, in the system tray I get a small icon
saying HSDPA or UMTS with a signal strength graph. Then after
using Network Manager to connect to a VPN using OpenVPN, instead of
getting the mobile phone icon with a padlock in the system tray, as in
previous versions of Kubuntu, I instead get a mobile phone icon with a
stop symbol on it (red circle with diagonal line across it).

The icon in use here suggests that there is a problem with the network
connection, not that it is working with a VPN.

Bug description:

  Hallo,

  [Situation]

Gnome-PPP (package gnome-ppp) aufgebaute Verbindungen.
Dieses verursacht vrschiedene Seiten-Effekte in folgenden Paketen:

  - update-manager:

empathy status dropdown is disabled or I didn't see it in enabled state ever.
indicator-applet-session Set status is greyed. Only after starting Pidgin, it

enabled state. But that empathy dropdown is disabled all the time.

If I change the indicator-applet-session status, empathy status will

Title:
network-manager didnt detect connection created by gnome-ppp

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: network-manager

  Hallo,

  [Situation]

Gnome-PPP (package gnome-ppp) aufgebaute Verbindungen.
Dieses verursacht vrschiedene Seiten-Effekte in folgenden Paketen:

  - update-manager:

Title:
Empathy refuses to go online if it thinks there's no network
  connection

Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: empathy

Currently, Empathy won't allow me to go online: the status dropdown and other
UI widgets are greyed out. In accounts settings, it says No network
connection.
However, I'm clearly connected to the network, since I'm able to file this
bug report. Just because NetworkManager reports no connection, doesn't mean I
couldn't be connected in some other way - pppd, etc. Empathy should at least
try to connect, rather than refusing to do anything at all. Other programs that
require an internet connection work fine for me.
