[Desktop-packages] [Bug 885592] Re: No parent folder button in Nautilus

2013-11-30 Thread Emmanuel Thomas-Maurin
You don't understand, it's called 'user experience consistency', my computer
file system and the web are the same thing ;)
(Sometimes, I'm really getting sick of all this pseudo-design/marketing bla
bla.)

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 885592] Re: No parent folder button

2012-06-09 Thread Emmanuel Thomas-Maurin
I want to add that, when saying 'stupid', I don't mean to be offensive
to anybody but only want to point out that, sometimes, some design
decisions may turn out as wrong decisions. 'Wrong' because a significant
number of users are not happy with these changes.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1007873] Re: Nautilus should have Up, Home and Reload buttons in the toolbar

2012-06-04 Thread Emmanuel Thomas-Maurin
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 885592 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/885592

Just my opinion: The 'up' button is one single-click and very
convenient, for me more convenient than 'previous' and 'next'. I think
it would be much better if the user could configure/decide which buttons
are showing up and which are not, rather than having one of them removed
'arbitrarily'.

Bug description:
Nautilus become unusable from Oneiric. In Precise it's unusable too.
So normal users (not geeks) who updated their 10.04 to 12.04 will be very sad
if they will not have Up, Reload and Home buttons in Nautilus toolbar. We
already have a solution, described in ubuntuforums (patching original Nautilus
source) - http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1904510.
It maybe difficult to do for newbies.

There is a bug for it in RedHat: -
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=761444.
  Back-button bug in Ubuntu: -
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/885592.

Please add missed buttons (Up, Home and Reload) to the Nautilus
  toolbar.
