[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1700043] [NEW] Thunderbird unable to print/preview
Public bug reported: Since the upgrade to 17.04 thunderbird no longer prints. Even preview is not working. I tried two different printers, txt and html messages. The preview window comes empty (see attachement) and the printed sheets come only with header and footer, but no content (html messages produce only some horizontal lines, but no real content rendering). My printers are an HP Laserjet and a Samsung CLP laser. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1285444] Re: Login Successful, Desktop Never Loads
Since an update a couple of days ago, I have the same symptoms. I log in normally, the desktop appears (with icons) but nothing else. With right mouse click I can open a terminal, but windows have no borders and no menus. I removed my ~/.config/dconf and .config/compiz-1 and checked my .XAuthority permissions, but the problem subsists. My .xsession-errors only contain this: openConnection: connect: No such file or directory cannot connect to brltty at :0 I'm running Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS HTH Fernando -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to at-spi2-core in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1285444 Title: Login Successful, Desktop Never Loads Status in at-spi2-core package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Here is what I encounter 1. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1417072] [NEW] Thunderbird address auto-completion is ignoring frequency
Public bug reported: Since a couple of weeks now thunderbird lost the ability to suggest message addressing based on frequency. Usually, when composing a message, most used addresses would come on top of the drop-down address list. Now, the most used addresses come almost at the end of the list. This is very annoying, since we usually trust TB for most used addresses (our colleages) and this means team messages now tend to go to outsiders, when we are in a hurry. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1299792] Re: Xorg dumping core on Hibrid graphics Intel+ATI
This bug filing might not be complete because ubuntu-bug was not working at the time. Only managed to send the bug after having found a workaround. You can see a small history of the problem at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2213955 Summarising: Xorg on live usb stick doesn't find the ATI card, so it works with the intel one, and it's fine, apparently. After install, the same Xorg finds different list of hardware, including the ATI card and tries to work with it, and dumps core. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1299792 Title: Xorg dumping core on Hibrid graphics Intel+ATI Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Fresh install of 14.04 on Lenovo S540 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: xorg 1:7.7+1ubuntu8 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-20.42-generic 3.13.7 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-20-generic x86_64 .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 2.13.3-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz CompositorUnredirectDriverBlacklist: '(nouveau|Intel).*Mesa 8.0' CompositorUnredirectFSW: true CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Sun Mar 30 16:00:49 2014 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: trusty DistroVariant: ubuntu ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0a16] (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:2216] Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:2216] InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-03-29 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Beta amd64 (20140326) MachineType: LENOVO 20B3001VPG ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.13.0-20-generic.efi.signed root=UUID=442725ec-72bc-4adc-852f-3a843af3fab5 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 SourcePackage: xorg Symptom: display UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 10/08/2013 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: GPET50WW (1.50 ) dmi.board.asset.tag: Not Available dmi.board.name: 20B3001VPG dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: 0B98401 Pro dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: Not Available dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvrGPET50WW(1.50):bd10/08/2013:svnLENOVO:pn20B3001VPG:pvrThinkPadS5-S540:rvnLENOVO:rn20B3001VPG:rvr0B98401Pro:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: dmi.product.name: 20B3001VPG dmi.product.version: ThinkPad S5-S540 dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO version.compiz: compiz 1:0.9.11+14.04.20140328-0ubuntu1 version.ia32-libs: ia32-libs N/A version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.52-1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 10.1.0-1ubuntu1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 10.1.0-1ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.15.0-1ubuntu7 version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.8.2-1ubuntu2 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:7.3.0-1ubuntu3 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.99.910-0ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.10-1ubuntu2 xserver.bootTime: Sun Mar 30 15:27:16 2014 xserver.configfile: /etc/X11/xorg.conf xserver.errors: xserver.logfile: /var/log/Xorg.0.log xserver.outputs: product id 13549 vendor AUO xserver.version: 2:1.15.0-1ubuntu7 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1299792/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
