[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1959747]

2024-08-09 Thread Frank Winklmeier
It's still the same problem in 128.0.1esr for me. CPU usage goes to 100%
when moving the mouse across the message list.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1959747]

2024-02-08 Thread Frank Winklmeier
Thanks Wayne. I think the confusing part in this ticket is that there
must have been multiple regressions in terms of CPU over time and I
think we are also mixing X and Wayland (in case that matters). Certainly
I also saw a big slowdown between TB 91 and 102.

In any case, with regards to my specific problem (mouse hover lagging behind in
Supernova) I narrowed it down to:
```
Visually the GUI changed drastically between these two builds (colors, icons,
etc.) so I assume this is the massive "ash" code landing you mentioned?
[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1959747]
2024-01-11 Thread Frank Winklmeier
I just re-installed TB 115.6.0 from scratch on a completely new Laptop
(Lenovo Carbon X1 Gen 11) running Ubuntu 22.04 and I see exactly the
same behavior there as on my old laptop. I will have to revert to TB 91
as any newer version is essentially unusable for me.
[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1959747]
2023-09-20 Thread Frank Winklmeier
I just tried the latest 118.0b4. The lag on the mouse-over effect as
well as the high CPU usage is still reproducible for me. First I thought
the new "cards view" is better, but that's just because fewer messages
are visible in the message pane at a given time. As has been pointed out
before, reducing the TB window size to show fewer messages also reduces
the effect in the classic table view.
2023-05-24 Thread Frank Winklmeier
Still no improvement with latest beta (114b3). I really wonder if this
will ever get addressed. For me, it's a definite blocker and I am still
using 91.8 for that reason. But I don't think I can stay much longer on
such an old version. Will probably have to look for another mail client
after 20 years of using TB...
2022-10-06 Thread Frank Winklmeier
I am seeing the exactly same behavior as Adi on Ubuntu 22.04. I manually
upgraded to Thunderbird 102 via the mozilla ppa and I am seeing the same
high CPU usage on mouse hover and delayed animations, which made the UI
almost unusable for me. My first guess was also the WebRender as I had
to disable it for Thunderbird 91. However, I do use Firefox 105 without
problems. So maybe it is indeed a different issue.
I am seeing the exact same problem on a Samsung NP900X3G after the most
recent kernel update for Ubuntu 16.04. It works fine on 4.13.0-41 but
with 4.13.0-43 I am seeing the same horizontal lines as Thomas. Maybe
this helps to find where the problem got introduced.
[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1033116]
2012-11-06 Thread Frank Winklmeier
@Rainer Bielefeld: I observe this problem for both vertical and
horizontal toolbars. Should I submit a new bug report for this or is it
the same issue?
Title:
  Arrows missing in LibreOffice such that sub-menu can't be shown
Status in LibreOffice Productivity Suite:
  Confirmed
Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Bug description:
  In LibreOffice Writer, when a toolbar is docked, icons on the toolbar that
can't be shown due to limited space are grouped to be shown in a vertical menu
triggered by pressing the "more button" (the button with ">>" on it). The bug
is that these icons that have sub-menu(e.g. a color palette) shown in a
vertical menu don't have arrows beside them to trigger their respective
sub-menu. However, it is expected that icons that have sub-menu should have
arrows beside them even if they are grouped in a vertical menu.
  Example:
  On "Formatting" menu, the "Highlighting" button should have an arrow beside
it such that a color palette can be shown after pressing the arrow for users to
choose the highlighting color. However, when this button is grouped in a
vertical menu triggered by pressing the "more button", the arrow is gone. As a
result, users can't choose the highlighting color. Instead, users have to make
the toolbar not docked such that the arrow appears again.
  Screenshots:
  Arrow not missing when toolbar is not docked:http://imgur.com/2Vp8n,FK1wI#1
  What I expect after the problem is resolved: http://imgur.com/YtoD0
  The same is for "Background Color" button.
  I think apart from LIbreOffice Writer, LibreOffice Impress, LibreOffice Calc,
etc also have this problem.
  Screenshots of the problem in LibreOffice Impress:
  Arrow not missing when toolbar is not docked: http://imgur.com/Moh1v,oQoRx#1
  My information:
  Release of Ubuntu using: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
  Version of the package "libreoffice-writer": 1:3.5.4-0ubuntu1
  I am sorry if the information provided is not clear or complete as this is my
first time to report a bug in Ubuntu. I will be very happy to provide
additional information if needed.
  Thanks for your help.
[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1033116]
2012-10-31 Thread Frank Winklmeier
I still see the same problem that I reported in comment #20 with Version
3.6.2.2 (Build ID: da8c1e6). It makes LibreOffice completely unusable on
Ubuntu for me. Please let me know in case you need more information.
[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1033116]
2012-09-10 Thread Frank Winklmeier
I am seeing the same problem with Version 3.6.1.2 (Build ID: e29a214) on
Ubuntu 11.04 (x86). In Impress or Writer, clicking on the little black
dropdown arrow of the "Font Color" toolbar icon has no effect. No
dropdown menu appears. The same is true for some of the other toolbar
icons I tried (e.g. arrow style). Others like "Font Size" or "Font Name"
work just fine. Contrary to the other reports here, it doesn't matter
weather the toolbar is attached horizontally or vertically. The dropdown
never works. I tried a complete re-install and also deleted
.config/libreoffice/3/user without success. This makes LibreOffice
basically unusable for me at the moment.
