2019-12-08 Thread Fredrik Jacobsson
So I still see this bug on several machines here that runs Ubuntu 20.04
with Gnome Flashback. And I suspects this bug causes Updatemanager to
fail sometimes when the system autostarts it while the screensaver is
activated. (The program is running minimized, but unable to unminimize.
You have to close/kill it and manually start it)

But the error is still logged after reboot: either i need to set also

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1537983] [NEW] gnome-screensaver loses screen control when desktop is Flashback + Compiz on single screen computers

2016-01-25 Thread Fredrik Jacobsson
Public bug reported:

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System
-> About Ubuntu

Description:Ubuntu Xenial Xerus (development branch)
Release:16.04

I use gnome-flashback with compiz on my machines. I have four (2 single
screen and 2 dual screen) and the problem only occur on the single
screen machines.

2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy
pkgname' or by checking in Software Center

gnome-screensaver:
  Installed: 3.6.1-7ubuntu4
  Candidate: 3.6.1-7ubuntu4
  Version table:
 *** 3.6.1-7ubuntu4 500
500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) What you expected to happen

Get back to the desktop when I touch the mouse or keyboard.

4) What happened instead

Screen is on and black except the clock line and locked (Why? I do not lock my
screens) user name at the top, plus the mouse pointer.
The only keyboard input available is switch to virtual terminals.
There is no way to get back to the desktop. I just kill the session by "sudo
killall lightdm" and log in again.

  3) What you expected to happen

Get back to the desktop when I touch the mouse or keyboard.

  4) What happened instead

Screen is on and black except the clock line and locked (Why? I do not lock
my screens) user name at the top, plus the mouse pointer.
The only keyboard input available is switch to virtual terminals.
There is no way to get back to the desktop. I just kill the session by "sudo
killall lightdm" and log in again.

I have no problems with my dual screen machines or if I log in using
  Metacity.

Status in “gnome-games” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
When you tie with the last lowscore, the message pops up saying you did not
make the score list.
If you press 'New Game', a new game starts, setting the time to 0:00, and the
scorelist pops up.
I do not know if you need to beat the 10th lowscore by a fragment of a
second, or just tie.

The only reason I could figure this out is because it happened twice
  today. Screenshot attached.

This bug allows someone to get to the top of the list if they can just
beat the 10th lowscore and then wait to cause a tie.

It is actually the missing 'libreoffice-base' dependency that causes the
error. I tested by manually installing the packages that 'libreoffice'
required and it started with no problems after 'libreoffice-base' were
installed.
